Truly good people

Recommended Posts

Something unexpectable happened to me yesterday. Me and two of my friends were pretty bad shape after raiding NWAF. We had no bloodbags, which was the biggest concern. We had no choice but to ask for bloodbags (sucks as we were bandits). One guy responded that he will give us bloodbags. When he came, he had survivor skin. We had a short talk while he was bloodbaging us. We gave him a gun as a present.

He was actually the guy we killed on NWAF, his friend escaped. He didnt shoot us on sight, but helped instead. That makes the game so much more fun.

Have you ever had a situation like this?

I was attacked in Elektro. After I shouted at him to cease fire (I was unarmed and bleeding with a busted leg). He saw that I was unarmed and he was apologising and offering to get a bloodbag for me and morphine. He got Morph n' BB's and patched me up and gave me free gear.

once i was heading out of elektro when i saw a guy..i asked if he needed help and escorted him all his way inside the town, guiding him to the loot i had seen while looting myself providing him cover (and gave him one of my two antibiotics).

I had geared up in Elektro, found myself a Lee Enfield, backpack and binoculars and enough food and drink. So I left town and went to a nearby forest to hide and look for some players - just for fun watching them with my binoculars.

While I'm stalking, I hear somebody saying in Direct Chat: "Guy at the tree, drop your weapon! Don't move!". He had seen me from far and followed me.

I had such an adrenaline rush and did as he told me, dropped my guns and followed his commands.

As I was unarmed he came to me and we had a little talk. He realised I was a good guy and allowed me to take my stuff back. So we walked a bit together and had a nice talk.

That was a very intense and cool experience. He could just have shot me from behind. Respect to that friendly guy, I wish DayZ had more of these players. I think it would go this way in a real apocalypse, too.

As a lone wolf I almost never choose to interact with random players.

One day as I putted around in my Tractor I saw a survivor with an Enfield running from zombies into a barn.

I pulled over, dispatched the zombies outside, and called out "friendly" in direct chat.

A startled and relieved british fellow proclaimed friendly back.

I rushed into the barn, wasted the last couple of zeds and offered him his pick of any items in the tractor inventory.

The genuine level of awe and thankfulness was palpable as he stated, "That was the single coolest thing that's ever happened to me in DayZ. Everyone else just shoots me in the face when I meet them."

I proclaimed that we all aren't dicks and rode off into the fields....

Yesterday a complete stranger gave me a gps.

I've found a good 15+ GPSs since 1.8 launched. Maybe he was overstocked? xD

I remember my second night ever playing ages ago I made it to NWAF with a compass, water bottle and no pack just running through the dark. (mind you this was when hacking was rampant) When I arrived there were flares in a circle and one ghillie in the center staring dead to rights at me in the tree line.  He told me to come out by name so I was like hmmm ok and walked over to him.  He requested I empty my gear which I did and said you made it up here with just that?  Why yes good sir I replied.  He said respect and spawned in a helicopter and said take it.  Gave a long solem stare into his eyes and made a dash for my gear running off into the trees. 2 seconds later sent out in the middle of the ocean as a deep chuckle behind me stopped and said find your way back now.  I floated until I died from hypothermia.

Well, he already had a gps, but after talking to him I found out he'd just made a stash, so he could stash the second one instead of offering it to me.

GPS and all other tools take up a weapon slot. The small stash has no weapon slots and the big one only has one.
