Need help Asap new to dayz

Hi as the topic suggests i am very very new to dayz. I watched os many videos and i finally purchased a alienware labtop and now i should be able to play dayz with no problems. I wanted to ask can someone please.. please... step by baby step explain every process of getting dayz before i blow my brains out... I downloaded the full package deal for all the dlcs and arma 2 and arma arrow games. I also downloaded dayz commander and dayz mod from stream. I got everything downloaded and i literally have no idea how to even play or start playing dayz... i keep getting some kind of error something like configuration everytime i go to open up dayz mod. I been real stressed seeing as that when i downloaded dayz commander it came with a freaking virus that im still trying to get rid of. Can someone please help me and go step by tiny step to make sure i literally got everything done to get this game working!!! And yes everything was downloaded successfully and i even updated everything through dayz commander.

Are your file directories correct in Commander?

Try Enabling the mod in ArmA 2 OA expansions. Open ArmA 2, then OA seperately. And make sure your Arma 2 version is 10318 or somethng in the update panel.

you should of asked before downloading anything here is step by step

1.buy arma2 and OA

2.download dayz commander from here http://www.dayzcommander.com/

3.click on download dayz commander

4.open it click install/update

5.download what mods you want

6.find a server that is not greyd out and has good ping

7.it should work if not pm me

Install and launch Aram 2.  

At the main menu, quit the game.

Install and launch Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead.

At the main menu, quit the game.

Download the mod here:  http://se1.dayz.nu/latest/1.8/  Pick the @Client-1.8-Full.rar.

Open the file in 7zip.  

Browse to your Arma2 Operation Arrowhead directory.  Create an @DayZ directory.  Copy all the files from the file you downloaded from dayz.nu into the @DayZ folder.  (if the rar already had an @dayz folder, just copy that to the OA directory)

Download the Arma2 beta patch from here.  http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php  I usually go with the file in the green bar but occasionally there may be an issue with an update.  Just make sure your beta patch version matches the server(s) you want to join.

Run the Arma2 beta patch.  Watch it carefully as it will complete the installation and not give you a notice.

Locate and find the _runA2CO_beta.cmd file in your OA directory.  Right click on it, edit.  Find "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca;" and add @dayz right after the ";ca;" so the the line looks like "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca;@dayz"

Save.

Double click on _runA2CO_beta and you'll launch into dayz.   Once there you can click multiplayer and either search for DayZ servers or remote connect with an IP.

 

There you go.  If you run aground somewhere, google the manual install.  I don't think I forgot anything.

Hello, here is the instructions to play with dayzCommander:

 

after downloading, run BOTH games at least one time. Then download and install DayzCommander. Make sure to only download DayZ Commander directly from here:  http://www.dayzcommander.com/ . After that check out that you have dayz and and beta patch installed and up to date. ( these can be found in install/update tab in commander. Currently versions: dayz 1.8 and Arma2 103718.)

 

Thats it. After that all you have to do is to choose the server where you want to play and make sure you have enough beans.

The easiest way is to use DayZ Commander IMO.

 

Install and run both ArmA II and ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead right up to the main menu once each.

Run DayZ Commander and navigate to the install/upate tab.

Install both the latest ArmA II beta patch (currently 103718) and DayZ mod version (currently 1.8).

Open up the settings tab and check both Steam options.

Use the DayZ Commander server browser to find a server that you want to play in and simply double click it.
