People that leave vehicles behind

A few weeks ago my buddy and I stumbled across two Hueys that were fully functional and all gassed up ready to fly. Whoever had them before just left them parked at the fuel tank at the NW airbase. We watched a waited for about 20 minutes, and when no one showed up, we took them and left.

 

Now we're in another server. My buddy had an accident and I had to go pick him up from the coast. When we arrived back at our six tent camp, we found a Ural parked there. Whoever owned it had emptied all the contents of our tents into his truck and then for some reason just vanished. Once again, no one was around so we just got in the truck and drove off to pitch a new camp. Why does this keep happening to us? Are people afraid of us?

Sounds like you're just extremely lucky.

 

The two hueys might of just spawned?  As for the Ural, maybe the driver ran off somewhere and you guys got to the ural before he got back?  I don't know for sure.  That's just what I think.  Either way you guys sound really lucky.

Most likely a bored hacker. They can't ride vehicles anymore that is not repaired so they have to repair it now i guess and they just ride it for fun and don't really care hiding it. I don't think anyone would go through so much time just to repair a vehicle and leave it somewhere stupid. Few hackers did this on my server and leave them on the middle of the road.

Vehicles aren't really worth the effort. You spend hours fixing them up and keep them for a day or two. You can't hide them well at all (especially from the air) and on a busy server, with people moving all over the map someone will eventually find it.

Exept for the glorious bicycle! You can hide that one everywhere, either people run right into it or it stays there for ever.

Honestly, the only thing I can think of is hackers, unrealistically benevolent players, or people who REALLY REALLY REALLY had to go RIGHT THEN (for whatever reason).

 

That being said, I have a couple vehicles that I've kept hidden for quite a while. You just have to know good placement and travel habits, that's all.

Second one, sounds like the guy had logged out thinking that he would be safe maybe? Or he really had to go,

 

I once found out that someone had built a base on the other side of a hill from me, we never ran into each other, and we had both been on that server for atleast 5 months.

 

It was quite funny
