Bows in Standalone

Hello everyone, it's now possible for bows to exist in ArmA 3. While stalking ArmAholic out of boredom, I cam across an amazing achievement for the Real Virtuality engine. This guy must be pretty skilled, because he has working animations for it, made a quiver and multiple ammunition types, and gave it appropriate bullet drop. Check it out please.

I wouldn't object to giving this guy credit and directly porting the scripts and model over to Standalone. Thoughts?

Different Compound Bows to come with some different crossbows would be nice.

They'd have to make their own anims, though, as the Standalone uses the [modified] Take On Helicopters engine, which is essentially an upgrade of the A2/OA engine.

YEEES!!! Bows and archery would be great additions to SA!

I believe this came up before. But yeah, I am all for having bows and crossbows. If they added this, I would probably use a bow most of the time. Tis what I use in TF2 most  :D  regardless if it pisses peeps off.

 

Types of bows I would like to see:

 

Composite bow, Recurve bow, and the Compound bow.

 

IMO it is not necessary to have many types of arrows. Maybe just one or two for each type of bow is fine. That said, we should be able to make incendiary arrows via oil or resin, or maybe the pitch from a pine tree? No doubt this has been brought up also... regardless, another +1 here!!
