The reason is that it (mountain Dew) was bad fortune item,  most people died in less than 1 hour after finding one, no matter what the cause was, when I used to saw a mountain dew, I just ran the hell out of the city/town i was in.

• killed a guy outside the Cherno W firestation
• looted a plenty of good equipment from his body
• got Antibiotics
• found an old Moto not totally crappy
