Jex 1104 Posted September 4, 2013 (edited) You should be fixing the zed aggro radius first.. People that run trough everything should be punished, not those who take their time sneaking. Especially if I have wasted my time crawling over roads and crouch-walking on anything else expect grass, it's frustrating when a zombie spots you from 60 meters when you were crouch-running.And when I say crouch-running on anything else expect grass, I mean that grass is the only surface that is good for sneaking. Especially the eyesight of the zeds should be all the same if you are crouching or standing. The only exception would be when you're prone, because then the grass actually covers you.And the hearing is even more frustrating, because that's what causing the problems. Grass is the only surface that you can run on. If you run on gravel or concrete, every zombie in 50 meters will somehow hear that.This pretty much forces me to run trough everything at the moment. I crouch walk/run everywhere and get very little aggro, if ever, simply because I'm making sure a zed isn't facing directly at me before I start to move. I, personally, think the aggro is pretty great right now... I can almost always avoid it... but there are times where a zombie 80-90 meters away happens to be looking in my direction, and I don't notice until it's too late. So, its not too easy to avoid aggro... I dunno. I think it's good the way it is... I think the way you prevent people from sprinting through a town is to make the zombie path-finding better... which obviously can only happen in the SA. As far as the mod is concerned, I think increasing the "knock-down punches" from zeds is the only easy way to make sprinting through a town more risky. I find Zed awareness is nearly right as it is now. If one is careful and stays motionless when a Zed is looking in your direction one can remain unseen at a reasonable distance. I find I can also crouch-walk in their periphery with a good chance of remaining undetected. Crawling can be resorted to in high-risk situations. Unless you crawl right under their noses they don't detect you. I also agree that a greater chance to be knocked down / tackled when running by a Zed would be a cool upgrade. The only other issue I have is as noted above by Razor, it is far too easy to walk right up behind a Zed undetected and take him down. It seems that their hearing could be bumped up a bit. I have also had no issues losing agro, a related point that is contrary to the observations of several others here. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
