Actually, that's a pretty damn good fps for your system running DayZ.

don't complain you're getting better Fps than you should.

Just run everything on low. It'll give you an advantage when trying to spot players. It isn't as pretty, but it works better.

Yeah, you're actually doing pretty well considering you're running a Phenon (which ArmA 2 just does not get along with well) and a really old GeForce card.

Just set everything to disabled/very low/low, whatever the lowest setting that's available is, video memory to default and 3D res to whatever your native res is and that's pretty much the best you're gonna get, unfortunately.

My gf has a 960T clocked to 3.6 with 8800gts and gets 50-60fps in cities with everything turned off. You could try overclocking your CPU as it will benefit this game alot.

This was on a public hive, as i mentioned on my post my specs are AMD x4 960T overclocked to 3.8ghz or 3.6ghz. "not my pc"  and a nvidia 8800gts. slightly slower then yours but i turned everything literally off. Low/Off on everything. res 800x600 etc. maybe 50-60 is abit exaggerating but should be around 40-50 and in some areas in the cities 60. with nvidia 9800 GT i don't think u can run it on med with good FPS. My old 570gtx was struggling alot to maintain good fps on normal/high.
