Folks, folks, slow down, I can't answer all these questions at once lol...


Here is a video showing the differences between A1/Caa1 Sahrani that our mod is currently on, and our full Arma 2 port that we recently completed.


Our next DayZ Sahrani release will be on this updated version of the map with even more enterable buildings than shown in this vid.

We have just got Epoch running on SMD Sahrani.... god I forget how beautiful this island is.

 

Standing in a forest and cant see my mate 100m away.... funny how BIs newer islands are getting bigger but more barren, boring and lacking variation in terrain (atlis may be massive but with the same object count as Chernarus its a joke....

Yeah Sahrani ist one of the best island compared to Chernarus which is still impressive but the classics are the best. I wish someone would do a DayZ with the old OFP islands. I wonder why so many people hated it so much back then.

They where great islands too.... maybe a little small but the hours I logged on Everon and Malden (all in sp/campaign) is probably yet to be beaten lol.

 

 

 

Its brought back to life dayz/epoch for me.... we have all the traders in place and all the gizz... AI missions, Safezones, Self Bloodbag, Heli Lift / Tow, Anti Theft, Auto Refuel/Repair.... just need to give it a good test.... just need to add some more buildings etc etc.

We have a fantastic method built into Sahrani for adding buildings. You make .beidi files in the editor, and then we have some PHP code that will spit them out in the correct format for use with our Server side ConfigTownGenerator... this is how we add all the Arma 2 buildings to the map.

The github is public now, it's in autogen data:

Oh, and a guy we talk to has permission to do all the original island from Hotzenplotz who did them at one point for Arma, He did a Nagova test release but it didn't go well, and required a LOT of work to get it populated with enterable buildings.
