babridgeman 0 Posted August 23, 2013 (edited) Im looking to build a PC for Day Z, and ArmA. My budget is $600 for the PC and OS. Keyboard, Mouse, and Monitor are not included in this budget frame. I have no computer knowledge about hardware. I was going to buy a CyberPower PC until I read some of the reviews. Im from the United States, and as far as a case (if one is suggested, I don't want a tricked out case with lights and see through, mainly because I don't want my roommates friends seeing what looks to be a $3000 PC and steal it.) -----iBUYPOWER Power ST600 Gaming PC with AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz, 8GB DDR3, 1GB RADEON HD7750, 500GB HDD, DVDRW, Windows 7 HP 64-Bit.AMD Quad Core FX-4100 3.6GHz and 4MB L2 Cache Processor8GB DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600 Installed Memory, expandable to 16GB500GB 7200rpm SATA HDDSuper Multi DVD Burner Optical DriveWindows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) A friend of mine linked me to the pc above, is this any good? OldMoto 2 Posted August 23, 2013 everything is great but the GPU does not fit in line with the rest of your build, 650ti is a bag of wank if your getting one at least get the boost version, i would recommend getting a regular 660 yes the 650 is the bottleneck

sobieski12 835 Posted August 24, 2013 Its a laptop, what fps would i get with this? And will I be able to run? Lets say very little fps.* You would be lucky to get around 5 FPS. A 1080 resolutions requires about 1.2 GB V-RAM, 1,200 MB V-RAM With 32 MB of V-RAM I would not even suggest gaming.

Good rig overall. I'd expect around 40 - 50 average FPS on populated servers. The only thing that is holding you back is the graphics card, which should at-least support 2 GB of V-RAM for 1080 resolutions.* If you had better GPU, I'd say you can reach 50 - 60 on average.* If your going to run a 1080 resolution your going to notice some small bottlenecking in the game. More than enough RAM for the system. Processor is good overall, it ain't the best but it's still good.* I personally ran a I7-920 at a stock clock of 2.90 Ghz and ran the game fine. But that was a while ago, today I use an I7-3770K at 4.2 Ghz. Edited August 24, 2013 by Sobieski12

TWAG 0 Posted August 25, 2013 (edited) If i downgraded to a GT 660 2GB and a AMD FX 4130 Black edition would I still get a decent fps? if you can afford the 7870 And the 6300 I would stick with those. To be honest I think the 660 is a pretty basic card. On the CPU the fx 6300 is only a $15 difference with the 4130, and you are getting 6 cores. The 4130 is quad cored. You would save about $30 or so. Keep in mind with a GPU the first number is the series and the second number if it is 1-3 it's crap 4-6 decent 7-9 is what you would want for gaming. You may want to upgrade the video card though, the 7750 is both a budget model and two generations old. I would recommend buying a 760, and in the case of you needing a better card just buy a second one (they're $250 each). It's been proven that 2 GTX 770's can outperform a titan quite easily and at about half the price. Realistically though, you will need to spend a fair amount of money to run ArmA II well, as it's a very unpredictable game and can vary so heavily by server. Even computers with two 690's in CrossFire still get drops to 20 or less FPS as times, though very rarely. If you want my advice, go for a second hand PC. Search eBay or craigslist until you find one cheap near you, assess the value of the PC and, if it's good bang for buck, buy it. I bought, a few months ago, a setup with a HD 7850 and 2550K processor. I upgraded to a 770 and it runs DayZ as clear as I could hope to get it, and what's more it only cost me $150 more (after selling the 7850), for a total of $750. So in all honesty, there is value in buying pre-owned hardware, so long as you are cautious about it. If you do choose to do this, add me on Skype and I'll help you sort it out. My Skype is JSparks225. :)

Sorry if that was unclear. :P
