mzltv 2281 Posted August 20, 2013 Still not sure about these A series CPUs with built-in graphics. Will leave this for someone else...What I've generally picked up, is that integrated graphics tend to be a big no-no (in regards to these threads, anyway)If you can get the game running, then I'd expect we're talking low video settings with low FPS. I think the A series are a kind of step up from integrated chips but I really don't know, for all I know they could be the AMD equivalent to Intel 3000 integrated chips and so on. Will wait for someone that's more 'up' on AMD mobile hardware...

PooPoo 13 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) Sorry to be posting so much about computers, but I've narrowed my search down to 3 laptops that I will for sure be buying by the end of today, I'm just not sure which ones. I'm buying fro xoticpc, so I can upgrade certain specs. Mostly I'm concerned about the CPU and GPU 1. Lenovo 510p http://www.xoticpc.com/lenovo-ideapad-y510p-59375625-p-6166.html?wconfigure=yesCPU - 4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4700MQ (2.4GHz - 3.4GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache) GPU - SLI (2x) - NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 750M 2. Sager NP8235http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8235-clevo-p151sm1-p-5840.html?wconfigure=yesCPU - 4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4700MQ (2.4GHz - 3.4GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache) GPU - NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 770M 3,072MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11 Video card is the best of them all. Also the CPU can be upgraded to a 2.7 GHz. 3. Sager NP7352http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np7352-clevo-w350st-p-5842.html?wconfigure=yesCPU - 4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4700MQ (2.4GHz - 3.4GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache) GPU- NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 765M 2,048MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11 w/ Optimus™ Technology CPU can be upgraded to 2.7 GHz. - Alright, so right now the thing I'm stuck on is the CPU. For both the Sager laptops, you can upgrade to a 2.7 GHz processor. Someone told me that you need 3 GHz to run dayz well, and I'm thinking that a 2.7 would run better than a 2.4. Would this make a difference at all? Or should I just save my money and stick with a 2.4? If it is worth upgrading, is the 770M video card that much better than the 765M that I would notice a difference? I do play other games too, so the 770 might come in handy for other games. - The lenovo can't be upgraded and I've heard having dual video cards might give you problems, so I don't really know how good it is. If getting a 2.7 Ghz processor will make no noticable difference over a 2.4, then I'll probably get the 770M sager laptop since it has the best video card. Thanks for your help Edited August 20, 2013 by PooPoo

dsr07mm 0 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) So I was happy when I got FX8350 and extra 4gb ram over old 4gb. Unfortunately with my GTX650 1gb oc dayz was playable but not enjoyable so after buying full game I uninstalled and I tried not to even watch streams until now (dissapointment). I was getting really low fps around 10-15 when I wanted to stream and 20 with only playing. I guess my gpu was really old. Now I wanted to get gtx770 but unfortunately at last moments I didnt had enough money so I ordered HD7950 3GB. Is that gpu really enough for this game ? I know that standalone dayz is coming and hopefully will be more optimized but I would like to hear someone who have dayz experiance with this gpu. Thanks ! As I said CPU is AMD FX8350 and 2x4gb ddr3 1600 ram, hm ? http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-7950-vs-GeForce-GTX-770 Honestly for a cheaper price the 7950 that you got is probably a better choice Guy at the store tried to convince me not to give another 150$ for gtx770 if I'm not playing in resolution higher then 1680x1050 or even 1980x1080 without aa and af more then 2x. I just want smooth 50-60fps when I'm recording new games for youtube channel and hopefully rec/stream dayz without too much problems. Other then that I'm playing only Dota 2 and Black Ops 2 for fun and for myself which is enough even on current gpu. Also from what I've found I can overclock this gpu without using extra fans and power supply since I'm getting new one aswel, and hopefully achieve bigger part of that difference between 770 and 7950. Hopefully he is right and I will be ok in next year or two. Edited August 23, 2013 by dsr07mm
