Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

Damn u were right, from 60 fps on Arma 2 we went down on 15 fps on Dayz, thats too bad. Is there anything I can do to play this smoothly? Or I've wasted 20e? :/

Just optimize it. Lower everything to the lowest settings and turn your res down to about 800x600 and you may get more fps.

Can my graphics card run arma 2?.

ATI Radeon 4200

And i also have AMD athlon II x4 650 3.20ghz and 8GB of ram..

You can probably just about run ARMA 2, but you'll struggle with DayZ mod.

Should i get the

EVGA GeForce GTX770?

I'd suggest getting a 760 that should be suffice and then upgrading your CPU with the £100 saved from the 760 (EVGA prices on newegg)

I have a cheap Asus laptop and before I download I need to know if it could run the game on any settings even very low.

  • Processor: AMD C-60 ADU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.00 GHz
  • System Type: 64 bit Operating System, x64-based processor
  • Windows 8
  • HDD 500gb

I play Skyrim, TF2, and Sid Meier's Civilization V. They all run very well but I'm not sure about this game.

No, I don't think you'll be able to run ARMA 2 or DayZ mod. Sorry!

ARMA can be a bit temperamental with AMD hardware, so it's hard to judge FPS but you should be able to run fine on 'high' settings.

That looks fine, it's a pretty well rounded system. Will take DayZ mod nicely on high-very high settings.

As for storage, your OS and most used programs go on the SSD, while hard drives are for mass storage.

If you really want the best performing SSD out there, go with a Samsung 840 Pro Series SSD, but it will be costly.

If you have an optical drive in your system too, then yes. One for the optical drive, one for the hard drive, and one for the SSD.

You don't need an SSD though, a standard hard drive will do you fine.

how will this play then!

  • Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K
  • Asus P8H61-MX USB3 Motherboard
  • EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 2GB GDDR5 Super Clocked Graphics Card PCI-E
  • Western Digital 1TB internal Hard Drive
  • CORSAIR Vengeance CML8GX3M2A1600C9 DDR3 PC Memory - 8 GB DIMM RAM

Great rig. But id reccomend getting an ati radeon 7770 or a 7790 as they both outperform the gtx 650

But that rig currently will run it at high settings around 30 fps

I would say yes but I am unsure about it on medium. Low it will be fine but medium maybe with around 30 fps but that is just a guess. I would personally buy a cheap graphics card to go with it like a 7770 or 7790.
