GPU could use an upgrade honestly. If you could stretch the budget a bit, the GTX 760 would be a great choice.

you may push 60 but tbh anything above 40 is great

Yes, yes it is. But I don't mind playing with those off and I probably won't be playing max settings anyway because I'm also planning to record it. So I just want the best performance while still looking good.

I currently get around 15-25 on pretty much lowest settings besides resolution which is at 83%. It can drop below 10 in cities.

Bouh guys !

Just bought my new laptop, it's a refurbished asus g53s, so I was wondering if I could run DayZ easily, it cost my about 600$ ( and it's new ), it usually cost about 1000 + $ for a new one.

Here`s the specs:

1tb hard drive

12 gb RAM

Nvidia getforce gtx 2gb dedicaded

Quad core i7 intel 2.0 ghz ( usually run at 2.6 ghz for some reason, idk if it's the boost thing from intel or whatever, but it can go up to 3.4ghz if I play around with the thing )

Window 7 family prenium

If you need any more informaitons, let me know. So can I run arma II with really good settings ?

Looking at buying a computer with specs:

Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-3630QM (2.40GHz) 6MB

8GB SAMSUNG 1333MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (1 x 8GB)

NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M - 2.0GB DDR3 Video RAM - DirectX® 11

750GB WD SCORPIO BLACK WD7500BPKT Hard Drive

Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

Could I expect to run Day Z on medium to high settings with these specs?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe medium 30-ish FPS. In some cases you'll struggle more. If you can though, go with a desktop PC, preferably custom built.

What's the price of that laptop?

It's costing me £700. I have to get a laptop as it'll also be needed to travel with work. Which component is limiting it? Also can you recommend a better laptop for a similar price?

Hmm okay. I don't really know good laptop deals when I see them, just desktop hardware and PCs. Though all laptops are technically overpriced for what you get. You'll be able to run DayZ, just not at beautiful settings and framerate.

I ordered it now because it's all I can afford for now, but I only want to play dayz on low settings, so what fps would I get? Thanks.

You could sacrifice the hard drive for a better CPU. 500GB would be plenty if you don't record videos.

Same goes for the power supply. 750 watts is overkill for that build, 600 watts would do you fine.

I just added all the parts from your list to Newegg, together it costed exactly $600*. Downgrading the HDD to 500GB and the power supply to 600 watts, I was able to shave off about $60-70. You can put that money towards a better CPU. That's my recommendation.

*rough estimate as you didn't specify some of the parts.

Was there any specific component that I should look at upgrading? Like a limiting factor stopping me from getting better graphics?

The processor is a wee bit lacking. My old laptop had similar specs, I was able to play at medium settings (things like anti-aliasing, shadows, and post processing turned off) at around 30-40 FPS. I did struggle in areas such as cities and certain graphical-intensive areas. Those thick orangish-red trees really lagged me bad. Be sure to put your power mode on "high performance" and keep the charger plugged in.
