The GPU is completely worthless, correct me if i'm wrong this is a pre built. I would recommend building your own check my signiture and you will find all the parts you need to make the same pc but with a really good GPU. I Bet this costs about £400 which to be fair is actually not too bad but the one i build costs £410. The mbo is also poor two ram slots and one PCI-E no room for expansion

Im not worried about the gpu because Im getting a 7790 soon after getting the pc, and it costs 368 pounds too

yeah not a bad deal then as i said just make sure your PSU is decent and you might want to look at splashing out on a new mbo if you ever plan to upgrade

In 1920x1080 I'd say you should be playing on normal-high settings. In 1280x720 you'd be fine on high.

I have Intel I3 and 1.9GHz, onnboard graphics and I can run arma 2 and day on normal without much lag although it lags a bit in cities but it's still playable

So im thinkin to get a second gaming rig.. is this any good?

i5 3570k 3.4 GHz OR intel core i7 3770k Ivy bridge

Scythe katana 4

1 TB Hard drive

8 GB work memory.

MSI Z77A-G41

nVidia GTX 770 (ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 - 2048MB GDDR5)

Corsair Gaming Series GS700

IS this going to be bottlenecking cause of thew GTX 770? and the i5?

Very nice, 30+ on very high.

As for the processor: i5 if its strictly gaming and daily computer stuffs, i7 if you are planning on video editing/video stuffs.

It wouldn't bottleneck, not with that hardware, but it would be a bit stronger if you overclock.

I've got an i5 3570k and GTX 780 and run close to max settings with great FPS. The GTX 770 isn't much less powerful at all, you'll run DayZ great on that system.

The i7 3770k is a slightly better CPU but I'm not sure it's worth the extra money (why I went with the 3570k). Like dulix said, I wouldn't bother unless you plan on doing some serious multi-tasking or a lot of video editing.

I run this game horribly at about 20 FPS, can anyone explain why? (I tried putting it on a RAM disc)

Is this just not an AMD game? I can run Skyrim and BF3 on ultra but can hardly play this game...

I'm just gonna ask if I can run Arma 3 on ultra 1080p then I can run the SA just as well?

Obviously yes.

edit: thought you wrote arma 2 not arma 3. Not sure about that.

the 4100 is notoriously poor but even still a quad core at 3.6 with a decent gpu you should be getting 30+ on high I would expect it to drop to 20's in the city

Yeah, I had a similar setup and was getting around 15-20 fps in the cities at high settings,

Overclocked the cpu to 4.2ghz and saw huge improvements, around 30-35 in cities.

i always love the posts like

i7 3770k

16 gb ram

gtx 680

ssd

will it run ok?

LOL

i run dayz on 3 computers so here is the info:

gaming rig

i7 2.8ghz or so (no idea what one)

6gb ram, trip chan

crucial ssd

gtx 570

--

Pretty high settings, 1920x1280 and 20% or so on the 3d. everything on high/veryhigh, no shadows, no atoc (by choice)

fps is very good. (did edit the CFG files and spent literally hours tweaking though)(50-60 and 20-30 in cities)

--

Asus g73 SW laptop

i7

gtx 460m

SSD mushin or something

1440x900, 20% 3d, high settings, no shadow or atoc

good fps - 40-50 and 20-30 ish no complaints

now where it gets hillarious!

a shitty IBM lenovo pc, bought for $80

i5 2.4 ghz

$60 used HIS radeon 7750 or something, low profile, decently crap card (barely fits in the computer hah)

2 gb ram (unknown shit ram)

1280x1024, same on the 3d settings, no shadows, no atoc, low-medium settings

tweaked to shit

30 fps peak and 15-20 in the cities

$140 dayz computer!

so there is a mediocre gaming pc, a great laptop (dated, but well built and priced) and a factorydirect shit refurb computer

hope that helps

I'm looking for help on why my fps in this game is so low but when i play any other game i'm 60+ fps while playing on ultra graphics with other games when my computer is about 6 or less months old and i spent over $700 on the tower alone.

Cpu: AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor

Ram: 8.2 GB

Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 560

Screen Resolution: 1920x1080

Type of Computer: Custom Made

I'M not sure if i need to reformat my computer or the drivers that i have downloaded are not correct but if i could get some help with this it would be much appreciated.

Also i get the same fps on very high and low for some reason.

lol even if you spent over 2 grand on a pc its barely going to get over 60FPS unfortunetly ArmA II is not very well optimized so even the best PC will struggle. Try overclocking the 6300 the clock speed is 3.5 stock mine is at 4.4 also your gpu while good isnt fantastic, i hate to tell you that you probably overspent if it cost you over $700 my pc has the same ram same cpu and much better gpu and it cost me £410

you may want to google dayz optimum gfx settings and follow that.

YOU must have all your driver up to date for sure.

look at my post above and see my FPS based on intel systems, including a shit system and a laptop.

you should be getting similar results as me, so say 40 fps cities and 60 fps in forests.

about as much as can be expected from DAYZ. its a hog.

your gfx card is more than enough for the game, make sure you optimize your settings.

SUCH AS VIDEO MEMORY - DEFAULT (uses max avail vid card memory) (most would want to select high or very high, but thats wrong)

also editing the CFG file as per GOOGLE SEARCH will help.

you can easily find 10-15 fps by optimizing without sacrificing graphics.

I turn off shadows and ATOC to help a bit with the fps and also allows me bad eyes to see a bit further/better.
