BUT you would probably need more ram. 4gb might not cut it.

2GB is the minimum RAM for ArmA II 4GB is recommended and is completely fine so he will cut it, if he wants he can upgrade to the 8GB

  • Windows Pro 32-bit
  • Intel Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30Ghz (4 CPUs) ~2.3GHz
  • 4096 Ram
  • AMD Radeon HD 7400M series (approx memory 1964 MB)

Let me guess, No? :P

yes but on low at about 10 FPS. So in other words no i can't find any decent benchmarks for the 7400M but your CPU is slow aim to get closer to the 3.0ghz mark

hi, looking for advice on a cpu and mobo upgrade. to run this game smoothly at about 30fps.

I'm currently playing it at around 12fps on these current specs.

core 2 duo 2.0ghz

nvidia 8600gt

4 gb ram

32 bit vista.

300w psu

I've just purchased a 500w psu and a 550 ti gpu. I've got about £200 to spend on mobo, cpu and ram.

seen a bundle that's in my price range that consists of FX-6300, the appropriate mobo for the cpu and 4gb vengence ram. would that be suitable or have you got a recomendation for my price range.

cheers

rene

I'm thinking of replacing my current laptop with a new one(its not my main rig), and I've been looking at the Lenovo Y400. I want to know if I'll be able to play at 30+ fps on at least high settings on 1280x720p, and I'd prefer a quick response. And please don't give me any of that "ermhagerd get a dsktp bro lol xD" bull. I'm getting it because I travel quite a bit and, tbh, I already have a desktop. So, here are the specs;

CPU- Intel Core i7 3630qm quad core @ 3.4ghz

GPU- Nvidia GTX 750m @ 950mhz

RAM- 8gb DDR3 1600

HDD- 1TB + 16gb SSD

It's not bad, would probably run with 30-60+ FPS somewhere between normal and high settings.

I could also get an ultrabay upgrade and have two 750m's run in SLI. What could I expect from that?

The CPU is way too weak.

I don't think you can, you can't change a GPU that is intergrated.

If you can go for the 680, keep it, otherwise the 7870 is about half price and is pretty damn good I hear. 40+ on max settings.

An average of thirty???

My DESKTOP had a 4000 series GPU and ran under 20 frames most of the time. He said he's playing on a laptop, I doubt he will get anymore FPS than ~15. Everything on low.

So I should go with the 680?

But I would only get around 40 frames?

Could I record with decent frames on this rig?

Any recommendations?

Any graphics cards I should look at instead?

Anybody answer please

Ok, now that i know my laptop is weak, but 10 FPS? Really? Even on low?

HDD: 2 x kingston hyperX 250gb (RAID 0)

VGA: GTX560 TI

Strange that on http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/ it says it would run without any problems, but seems it isn't so.

I ran it but under 15fps in towns and max 30 in very low populated/empty zones.

I run arma at over 60fps.

Tried a bunch of tweaks but still the same no matter what I do.

If it's not too much, can you guys give me a hint?

L.E. Even with this low fps I really love the game and will continue to play it, but I would really like to know if there is anything I can do.

Not a lot, I don't think. ARMA 2 doesn't take SLi setups well.

what an interesting set up what made you decide to go for a server cpu? you will be restricted on an OC on that cpu which would be the obvious thing to do to increase your relatively low clock speed, if you water cool it, it will get to about 2.9ghz which for the investment is not really a good enough option, air cooled OC will not be effective at all. I need to do a bit more research then i'll get back to you

gpu bottleneck the HD4300 is SHOCKING also i believe the cpu is only a dual core

Well the setup was a gift that I received under the name of a HP XW6600 workstation with only 12gb ram, 1quad core proc and a hdd. The video card, second proc, ssds and the new 32gb ram was an investment I have done in my SharePoint Server learning path. Since I didn't want to have 2 desktops I decided to try and make a hybrid out of this one so that I can do my work stuff and decently run games. Unfortunately, even if most games run without problems on 40+ fps, dayz itself is a bit stubborn when it comes to my config. Also, I don't think this hp motherboard allows overclocking(servers usually don't require). Edited by Heaven86

nice mate i like to see stuff thats been upgraded and i haven't seen before. Unfortunately ArmA 2 and DayZ even more so is highly cpu intensive without getting to 2.9-3.0ghz mark you are going to struggle to get that 40+ fps.
