What happened to the servers?

Recommended Posts

Recently my laptop broke, and before it did I loved DayZ. But as soon as I came back, every server just let's you spawn with a loadout that has guns, and all the survival items. Where the hell is the challenge? Or the survival aspect? All the servers are just giving their players the essentials to go around shooting one another. I have seen three regular server that don't do this.

If you have a "regular" server, please tell me the name. I would like to play on it.

There are plenty good servers that provide a challenge, you should try DayZero, it's the popular mod at the moment and it is definitely a challenge.

Unfortunately, the more popular the game becomes the more morons that come with all their little friends and try everything to either give themselves an advantage or just make the game easier for them.

I've been trying to play DayZero for quite some time now. But everytime I go to join one, nothing really happens. I think I've only gotten to play it once, and it wasn't for a long period of time.

i second the notion of trying DayZero. it's the closest thing you can get to "old" dayz in my opinion. zombies hit harder, run faster, and are much harder to lose. You bleed more and take more damage, the weapon damage ratios have been modified. Basically, all weapons are very deadly now. ( some more than others). it's a challenege, you really get that "feel" for survival again, so i'd say give it a shot. it's well worth it. (Not to mention, it runs better than normal dayz  )

Try Dayzero on bmrf.me - they have 3rd and 1st person servers and an IRC channel to talk direct with admins should you need to (and who always seem to be there). It's whitelisted but very easy - you just sign up to their forums using your arma game name and that's it. They also run regular dayz plus some other brands.

Highly recommend them :)

I agree, Dayzero is definitely worth a try.  Reminds me a lot of how DayZ was when I began playing back in July last year.  They even have extra enterable buildings, more "dynamic" loot spawns, etc.  They have some extra guns added too.

As far as good Dayzero servers go, like Jexter said, I recommended bmrf.  They have a lot of Dayzero servers to choose from.

sorry if this might be offtopic..is it true that infections are removed from dayzero? because that would be a huge difference between vanilla and zero..

i suggest to OP to try it definetly, it's really really good

Yep. But you start to bleed easier, and take more damage.

Yes but no 10 hour romps just to find antibiotics only to die. Not only that but frame rates are superior and there's more buildings you can enter. I'd much rather have have harder hitting zombies and more bleeding over infection.
