Gotta be careful about giving a guy without a gun a gun.

i would really take that risk

i would love to just walk the roads and trade with people and not get shot for no reason

life of a trader in DayZ would be the best

I'd like to play like that, most of the time I just get shot by somebody that's picked up a Lee Enfield for the third time and just wants to kill people.

whenever i have been killed a lot, the next time i spawn in i just find a gun/crossbow and some supplies and go survive in the woods for a while

pigs are good friends

but if i could play as a trader more i wouldnt go along the coast as much

I would like a friendly group based community on a server.

The bandits are just as loyal as the survivors with their rules, all are willing to have peaceful trades anything that does go down is kept in game and is super fun.

In a disaster situation (the apocalypse perhaps) all the stores and other places you can buy food would be looted within 3 days (1-2 days if its  really bad).  I think that stores are actually a BAD place to find food because its so obvious that all the stuff would be gone before the zombies even defeat the military.  Also you could find the occasional survivor stash but I think most people would take a desalinization device some fishing poles and go live on the ocean. The supplies would be gone unless the boat came back to shore somehow.  And if the people on the boat starved then there would be no food anyways.

In the shelves we commonly have in our towns supermarkets they go several metres high of extra non perishable stock that people wouldn't bother with untill there's nothing else left.

Not to mention people can only carry so much food away with them.

The chernarus markets would be cleared after a couple hours though, although I'd like to see medical style boxes for food in the back.
