What are you doing to the game we love?

Anyone who asks for the game to be easier is not someone Rocket should cater for.

 

Gamers point of view : I'd agree with you.

Business point of view : I'd disagree with you.

 

We can only hope that rocket will not be greedy.

Yeah, I hope so too. An easy game defeats the purpose of what DayZ was meant to be.

I am not sure how well the community will respond to a difficult scenario in DayZ. The DayZ community overall is quite spoiled with how common military grade weapons are and how easy it's to obtain vehicles and helicopters.

 

Back when on accident the zombies had a high chance of infecting players, the game-play changed quite drastically. Players of which didn't care about the patch simply ran into town would more than likely get infected, while the game rewarded players for being stealthy to actually avoid zombies. But alas the amount of crying forced the devs to revert this change... 

 

Now the question is... How will players react when the Standalone is much harder than the mod? Will rocket capitulate to the demands of the casual community?

As Fraggle said, Dean has stated a few times that he won't cater to the casual members in terms of game difficulty. I do hope what he says will turn out to be true. I personally believe so.

Taking everything that has been said by the devs about standalone at face value, it will be good. There will be a lot of tweaks and patches at first, but if you don't expect that, just don't play for a few months. Only thing I am dreading is the text notifications, but they said that they are still working on them and might change it, so...

I have to say, everything I've seen about the SA has impressed me, I'm looking forward to the survival challenge which should be at last a major feature of DayZ gameplay and the effect that will have on how people play it. It will be very interesting, and the more difficult the better. The only thing I don't like is the zombie leap attack animations, but I'm sure that won't be a deal breaker for me.

I have to say that most of the things listed in the OP (minimal HUD, filling magazines, player-to-player blood transfusions instead of using unrefrigerated blood bags etc.) are some of the things that I find the most awesome about the standalone.

 

It's a shame that there won't be any vehicles on release, but that's for the greater good. They're being redone so that we have something better than what we have in the mod.

 

I think the vast majority do not want a polished mod, they want a polished game. That's the reason the standalone wasn't released in December.

Rocket is only creating a game he would love to play, you like it or not. Thats your decision thats what he made on Mod thats what he is going to do on Standalone Project. He has quoted many many times, this game most likely will not be for casual community but for the hardcore class.

I disagree with everything you said . I'll give you this, am a bit disappointed about zombies and vehicles not being on initial release(vehicles are not that important anyways) . Zombies however, are . It is a zombie SURVIVAL game . IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE COMPLICATED .

 

Ps . From my point of view , your complains and claims MAKE  the game more "arcadey" or whatever . Matt is an experienced dev , even if he doesn't have serious gameplay time as you claim , his experience fills its place . 

 

Nothing is perfect, nothing will ever satisfy all you needs , their will always be differences , so stop complaining . Accept the game as its maker wants it to be , or don't buy it . Rocket did say he wont change anything he planned at this time period .

I know vehicles won't be in but, where did you hear zombies won't be in it? The standalone dev blogs they've shown had zombies in them.. it wouldn't make sense for them to take them out.
