Jex 1104 Posted August 29, 2013 I like the fact that I can max out the view distance and still keep 50 - 60 fps pretty consistently on DayZero, where in Vanilla it would be unplayable for me. Most server you can change the slider of the view distance but it has no effect on view distance - it's coded into the pbo file so unless there's a menu option (from the scroll wheel, not video options), you're not actually increasing it. Jex 1104 Posted August 29, 2013 Get in a boat or be forced to sit still in the rain lying on the ground because there is a sniper you haven't spotted yet sitting out there with a good view of your position that seems to have lost you. The times are rare(unless you move around by boat) but it does happen. Exactly, so it's not worth having it in right? I think it was buggy anyway (why they removed it) and taking it away caused less strain on PC's.
beatSTV 631 Posted August 29, 2013 IMHO its a pure version of dayz vanilla i've played it a fair bit and its good i do however dislike podagorsk
CornProducts 315 Posted August 29, 2013 FrostDMG mentioned one of the most important features, which was quickly buried. The DayZero mod you are playing now is shoehorned into the Chernarus map while they work on implementing it into, and completely reworking the map Podagorsk. Although lacking Chernarus's expanse, I found Podagorsk to be the best user created map I have ever played on. Podagorsk has a flow that many maps are missing, and a feeling that this is a genuine environment you are playing in, instead of a map a guy plopped some mountains in between a smattering of cities. That being said, Podagorsk is smaller, which twists my buns, but it certainly counters its lack of quantity with sweetened and condensed quality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vsVXsngFe4#t=7m18s

Or, they could simply increase the chances of getting cold. Some other mods it comes into play, but we play where the seasons are locked into late summer/early fall. Play on a server with snow up in the mountains and you will see how quickly the heat thing matters. Play on Breaking Point with the Aircraft Carrier and Oil Rig which are out on the water and you will see that Heat Packs can come in handy. I had my helicopter blow up while looting the aircraft carrier once because of a server restart and bug from the AC and vehicles on it. I was trapped out there and had to keep myself warm. No friends with helicopters on so I was just lucky I had picked up a couple heat packs which let me stay active and alive long enough to ambush someone who flew out there. Yes the flow is great on podagorsk but its too damn small and every single fucker on there KoS because they are worried if they let you go they will be concentrating on someone else and then you'll pop up behind them and shoot them in the back. The enterable buildings and the improvements made to performance cannot be knocked
