Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted August 16, 2013 I used to use it a lot to store a few valuables before entering a dangerous area. It'll be interesting to see who else does though because people don't mention it very often.
IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted August 16, 2013 I thought they took away the storage capacity of campfires in the last patch?

plexico 386 Posted August 16, 2013 I'm pretty sure fire places disappear on restart.
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) I'm pretty sure fire places disappear on restart.Yeh, it does (or did) work well as temporary storage though. Eg: you're making a hospital run, you can just stash your goodies in the fireplace just outside of town and go grab your meds. fluxley 2228 Posted August 16, 2013 Since 1.7.7. a campfire only holds one item to allow you to add wood to keep the fire burning. And they can't hold weapons, tools or backpacks, so really not much use for storage. They can also be cleaned up by the server even before a server restart so holding anything of value in there is risky.
