camp fire storage !

ok so i was playing with my friend and and we made a camp fire then my friend had a great idea to store stuff in it because u can store meet with it why not guns and other stuff.

 

so we tested it on a tin canned and it work but we wanted to try guns but we were to afraid of getting it destroy, so does anybody else using this storage??? for loot ??  or did i just discover something new??? plus it is very good not like someone is going to see it and have a look in it.

I used to use it a lot to store a few valuables before entering a dangerous area.  It'll be interesting to see who else does though because people don't mention it very often.

I thought they took away the storage capacity of campfires in the last patch?

Maybe. not sure tbh, I haven't played in ages.  OP might be on a private hive I guess.

I'm pretty sure fire places disappear on restart.

Yeh, it does (or did) work well as temporary storage though.  Eg: you're making a hospital run, you can just stash your goodies in the fireplace just outside of town and go grab your meds.

Since 1.7.7. a campfire only holds one item to allow you to add wood to keep the fire burning.

 

And they can't hold weapons, tools or backpacks, so really not much use for storage.

 

They can also be cleaned up by the server even before a server restart so holding anything of value in there is risky.
