Outside the scope of the game, but oh, so sweet:

1) Alsatians wandering the countryside lost and confused :(.

2) Can be tamed with offer of meat.

3) Basic Arma II command set utilized, ie: Follow (Return to Formation), Advance, Move To, Watch Direction, Attack Target.

4) Ability to sense zombies/game animals outside of player's perception range and alert player to presence.

5) Must be watered and fed or will perish.

Combine that with more elusive, and flighty game animals and I would never set foot on tarmac again!
