DayZ zombies running inside

Recommended Posts

Basically, I just played DayZ with my friend on my own server, I ran all the way from three valleys to elektro and I lost my shotgun when I tried to store it in my bag, lost like 50 shots there.

I ran all the way to cherno with an ak with no ammo etc. and finally I got into a farm house (ones with stairs on both sides or w/e) near cherno and found a double barreled shotgun... well, I shot a zombie and took baked beans from it, then another one came inside and it walked through the door then ran at me and hit me several times, I pumped like 4 shots on it then it finally died, and I used 3 bandages and I was still bleeding, and like 2mins later I died.

I wouldn't really mind about losing my stuff, but it seems like I was killed by a bug, which is quite annoying. It was my own server and I had 0ms ping all the time so lag probably isn't the problem (I also run it on the same computer.)

The version that I have is 1.7.7.1, and the server is the same version obviously. I use the server to play with my friends without having bandits everywhere.

If im not wrong if they aggro while outside, it might cause the zeds to run for a short amount of time inside, because there still doing on outdoor aggro command.

They can rush at you during their attack animation, so don't get too close.

I've also noticed some "buildings" are not the same as others.  That barn in particular they seem to be able to run and walk.  I never engage them at ground level, but instead let them come up the stairs.

Make sure you let the bandage animation completely finish before you do anything else otherwise, a lot of the time, the bandage won't actually be applied.

Don't ever rush bandaging unless you've been shot and are at very low blood.  Keep calm, make sure there are no incoming threats, find a secure location, and then bandage...

Second TheLastEmp's comment on bandaging.  It would take three bandages to stop bleeding not waiting for the animation to finish.  As you were playing on LAN then lag was unlikely to be a problem.

If that was a viral infected you encountered, they can take several body shots or melee weapon hits to drop, but one head shot will still do the trick.

Firing a DBS will bring every zed within about 90 metres aggroing in to find the noise source.

I used 3 bandages

You have to wait for an animation to play. After the animationm you'll stop bleeding. It's a pretty long animation by the way.

They can run in the middle of the barn and also in hangars. The height might have something to do with it.

This game is super buggy and broken.  Id say half my deaths are from bugs, certain things you learn not to do because those things are extra broken and you learn the hard way :P

it's an alpha, deal with it.
