human powered transport (primarly bicycles)

Recommended Posts

i Hate writing long posts so here is a outline of my very big post idea

dayz needs more bikes...

over 50 percent of people in american ghetto's and in asia use bikes to get places, Dayz is set in a poor rual area...

bikes require bike tool kit (rare) to fix and modify (exept fixing tires)

types of bikes:

                                      |max Road speed| |max Off Road speed| |max Downhill speed| |duarbility(offroad)|

Ridgid Mountain Bike:     17mph/27kmh           13mph/24kmh          25mph/40kmh             high

Hardtail Mountain Bike     17mph/27kmh           15mph/24kmh         30mph/50kmh             very high

Full Suspension Mountain Bike 17mph/27kmh  17mph/27kmh         35mph/57kmh             extreme

Racing Road bike              27mph/43kmh         7mph/12kmh          13mph/24kmh          extremely low

Touring Road bike           25mph/40kmh           7mph/12kmh          13mph/24kmh                  low

Cyclocross bike (RARE)  25mph/40kmh            13mph/24kmh      25mph/40kmh               medium high

all bikes have 3 levels of component quality (see next line)

bike tool kit allows for component swaping between similar bikes (low 25 less stats than listed, med as listed high plus 25 to stats)

tire damaged by obstacles as indicated by durability, type of tire affects durability but no MTB tire on Road bike.

tires do not need to be replaced upon destruction only innertubes (uncommon) need tire repair kit (uncommon)

all bikes except Full Suspension Mountain Bike can carry 2 panniers (5-7 slots each) if it has bike rack attached (rare) (needs bike tool kit (rare) to install rack) plus one seat bag {small(uncommon)tire repair kit plus 1 tube/ Large (rare) 1 tire repair kit and 2 tubes)}

bike bell quiet,(common) and horn (uncommon) loud to attract zombles (no tools needed)

also reflectors should be removable, and flashlights can be taped to handle bars

same controls as al vehicles exept double tapping turn wil cause sharp swerve.

all bikes can be jumped except road bike

bigger obstacles, and swerves at or over 95% of max regualar speed and 3 foot+dropoffs  have 50 percent chance to cause fall decreases the more you ride bike to 5%

slow falls have 5% chance to break leg

Fast falls (over max speed) have 35% chance to break leg

Extreme falls (5 foot plus drops) have 95% cahnce to break leg

Chernarus isn't that poor but i would expect anything from a bike over a horse carriage to a lada...maybe even a "Rolf" or two.

Any fall can be serious or not, remember a lot of deadly accidents happen in the household and they range from falling from the roof to falling from a stool and can vary in injuries. You can already just trip over and break your neck if you are really unlucky.

I definitely want a few more than about two per map, and a good variety would be great!

Why are the road bikes slower downhill than they are on a flat surface?

Religions don't believe in gravity.

Maybe they could lower the uphill speed by adding less torque. If there is such thing in this engine and I'm pretty sure there is.

Nice post, but I can assure you that going down hill I have reached what I am quite sure was close to mach speed.

On the Tour de France they actually go around 100kmh downhill, its friggin crazy!
