I believe there is a launch parameter, if I remember correctly it's called -noPause. Just put that in a shortcuts launch parameters, or if you use steam, go to properties-set launch parameters. DayZ Commander also supports this in settings.

-noPause will make your PC a little slower, but it basically means that DayZ will keep generating an image (refreshing the screen) while you aren't focused on it.

Either that or upgrade your PC. I get "recieving" for 2-10 seconds and I'm on low-medium business laptop...

Whenever I have to alt+tab out of dayz, mainly because of skype, it always says 'receiving' for about 2 mins before I can play again. It says receiving on a black screen, I'm sure that most players are familiar with what it looks like.

Anyway, is there any way to tab out, without having this screen?

Thanks,

DBodz

It is odd, because I have this parameter already in dayz commander yet it still does this :-/

And btw, 2 mins is a bit exaggerated, however I don't really like relying on my friends to protect me from zombies, so it would be nice to be able to get straight back in-game.

What are your specs?

It's understandable if your pc is very low-end, but for a higher end pc it would be a bit weird.

If you're switching in and out of DayZ a lot maybe going into Windowed mode might help.

My specs are pretty good actually, quad core clocking at 2.2 GHz and 8 GB of RAM. I don't think this is the problem. My friends have much lower pc specs, yet still don't suffer from this problem.

The parameter is -noPause right? I put up an attachment of my launch parameters. I'm sure it is correct. Is there a specific place that it needs to go?

I have a shitty computer, playing Dayz at 8-12 fps, and I can alt+tab w/o any problem and coming back instantly, and I mean INSTANTLY. It is one of the features I like the most from this game as I usually have to alt+tab constantly and its annoying in the majority of the games.

Does -noPause work for you then?

hey dboz, i think i have another idea!

if you use dayz commander and steam make sure you dont have the option launchparameters set in both programs because they kinda kill each other!

Here are my launch parameters which are ONLY set in STEAM (nothing in the dayz-commander except of "launch using steam" ofc)

-cpuCount=4 -maxMem=2047 -world=chernarus -skipIntro -nosplash -noPause

DO NOT JUST COPY/PASTE THEM WITHOUT CHECKING YOUR CPU THREADS(here: 4) OTHERWISE YOU COULD GET PROBLEMS!!

Oh, I did not realize this. I do have them in both. Should I keep them in Steam or DayZ commander?

I never launch directly from steam. I just use the commander. Even if I use the commander, do the launch parameters in steam still get used?

That's the point. I never used that. Im playing Arma through steam and it already came that way. Never heard about that -noPause feature before.

set the parameters ONLY in steam and make sure you set dayzcommander to launch the game via steam by activating the appropriate box.
