Trouble equipping a machete.

HI..how do I equip a machete as a weapon?  I cannot click anything or anywhere, and when I cycle weapons it doesn't show..let me know please!

Doesn't the machette work the same as an ax...RMB..."remove from tool belt" and it replaces the main weapon?

The machete counts only as a primary weapon, so you can't put it on your toolbelt.

It was on the toolbelt..only when I dropped it and picked it up again could I equip it.

Hmmm, the only time I've ever used one was when I found one in a barn...or warehouse. Is it as effective as an ax?

Used to be, but not in 1.7.7.1 as far as I've seen.

Causes a bit more damage than the hatchet. can't chop wood with it though.
