depthchargesw 0 Posted July 23, 2013 Hey all, I've been playing DayZ for the last couple days, and the FPS feels like it's hovering around 10-15, lower in Cherno. Do I need to upgrade my system to get a solid 30-40 fps on medium settings, or can I tweak it? Are there any tools I should check out to see if I can make it run better? barrett_killz 229 Posted July 23, 2013 Nah, your rig is alright at the moment, you have to check your ArmA settings. This helped me a lot: http://www.dayzpvp.com/ultimate-dayz-graphics-settings-and-tweaks-guide/
Mos1ey 6301 Posted July 23, 2013 Your system is a bit outdated but it should be able to manage 30-40 FPS on normal. What are your current graphics settings? A screenshot would be really helpful if possible.Have you modified your config at all?Are you currently using any startup parameters?
enforcer1975 1111 Posted July 23, 2013 You system is quit slow, you won't be able to run around with smooth fps in the big towns. You have a lot of structures there after all compared to other action shooters where there is much less impact. ArmA is really a mystery considering hardware and performance, yet again some people claim to have smooth fps on low tech rigs but on the other hand it also depends on the user. With a long history in gaming i have experienced different kinds of engines where 30+ fps feels like really fluid in some games and in other games it's like you have lag all the time, it even ended with me having nausea in one or the other game because even with proper hardware it didn't feel smooth.
