Re-apeal

Reapealing cuz my ban should have been removed ages ago as stated in the previous appeal.

For those who misunderstood its not 1 server im banned from all dayz servers (normal arma servers with be i can join)

Nope, no one here is in charge of Global bans.  You have to talk to Battle Eye, as well as remove your hacks and scripts.

Then find another server and move on, if its been a year any gear you might have had might have been deleted.  I've never heard of CBL before and if you're not banned by Battle Eye you should be golden for any other server.  And if you look at the most recent posts in your old appeal, Smash has given you an answer, no need to get rude in an IM.

He is on the CBL. A central ban list that the majority of servers used. The CBL hasn't been updated/maintained for over a year now though and is known to have false positives on it. There is nobody to remove his ban from the CBL. All he can do is appeal to individual server owners to remove him from their own banlists (which they have copied the CBL bans into)

It's a text file of bans that server admins have copied into their own server banlists. There is no way to stop them working unless server admins remove them from their own banlists. There is nobody to remove the bans from the CBL because the people who were running it haven't been around for about a year now. It sucks for those who have been falsely banned but their only recourse is to appeal to individual server admins.

I think we need to look at the bigger picture,if guys like me and others end up on that list for bogus reasons and ppl still use the same old list that has been proven thats its garbage how would this reflect to dayz,dayz mods like origins and even the frikin standalone??? would history just repeat itself without nobody learning a lesson???

I can clearly see ppl not intending to rebuy a new copy of arma just cuz some 1 made a silly list and put them on there cuz who would prevent such a thing from happening again???

It is beyond our control.  It is/was a community generated list that admins choose to apply to their servers voluntarily.  Because many known hackers and trouble makers are on the list it's an easy way for them to ensure they don't join their servers.

As long as server admins have the ability to ban players from their own servers this is impossible to prevent. There is no way to stop them from sharing their own bans with other server admins on the internet so I'm not really sure what you are suggesting.

So why if we all know this list is garbage why has there been no decent post made by a dayz official to warn the server admins to use at own risk as there is allot of false bans.

Why has nobody botherd to give a fudge??? so we can keep funding bohemia every time some douche admin submits a silly report?? So players would have to come to boards like this and gamers

platoons and having to go trough all this stuff again??? As far as i know games are supose to be for entetrainment and not for giving the players a headache like its doing now.

Banning should not be done by shared lists but by the admins of their own servers and thats it. Why would they be allowed to have any input on another players game wich those admins dont own?

Heck they dont even own the other servers the players play on so there should be no right to get some 1 banned from a diff server. You dont whant a player on ur own server? fine local ban and be done since

you own the server but keep ur dirty paws of payed for experience from other players!

As SmashT explained, as long as server owners have the ability to ban/allow whomever they choose from a server this situation will persist.

 

I understand your frustration but please remember it is the free mod DayZ that you are banned from.  The servers are run by the community.   Arma2 is the game you have purchased and in that regard you still have full access.

There is a notice at the top of the pinned CBL topic as well as on the CBL itself saying it hasn't been maintained/updated in close to a year. The CBL page even says there may be false positives on it. There really isn't much more we can do if admins continue to use this outdated list and refuse to listen to peoples appeals.

Are you implying because it happens its justified??? Let rocket hire a team with all the money he is gonna make off dayz standalone or let the officials from battleye handle the bans as the admins/players cant seem to be trusted anymore in online gaming today. I remember when i bought my first games like unreal,unreal tournament was a very nice game despite obviously some cheaters on it,All that had to happen was a admin to ban him from his server and be done with it. If some 1 is cheating they are most likely persistant cheaters and at some point there whont be any server they can join cuz eatch and every admin manualy banned them. Same result as a shared banlist but slower and less false positives

I'm not saying it's justified but there is nothing anyone can do about it. The only people who can help you are individual server admins by removing your ban from their lists.

The standalone is a separate project and will be handled very differently.  Any and all bans relating the the mod will have nothing to do with the standalone. 

 

DayZ the mod is still a free mod and is still managed by the community.  The situation is far from ideal but that's how it is.  Your only recourse is to contact a server admin, explain the situation and ask that you be allowed to play on their server.

 

I repeat, there is literally nothing else that can be done for you.  Admins are using this list voluntarily and we have no power to tell them otherwise.

Ok fine but if these guys who maintain the list right now dont care about ur appeal cuz they get like a milion of em and start treating every 1 in the same fashion a real cheater would be treated who will help the player??Who is gonna get off his ass and stand up for these ppl?? il tell you,no 1 will cuz were all to mutch focused about our own experience like some selfish nub (not implying you guys are 1).

So can some 1 with authority here have a word with these guys at gamers platoon and the other big communities?? or at least make a post with a decent warning about the list???

The lack of technical support in these cases is horrible,there not gonna take my word for it and the only ones they might listen to is the ppl with some form of reputation or power like a dayz official!

As explained, the problem is caused due to the fact that nobody maintains the list any more, it was abandoned many months ago.

 

If you can contact an admin of a server you wish to join then please feel free to give them my details and tell them I'll be happy to discuss the situation with them.  Be advised though that many admins are still wary of allowing players onto their servers that are on the list, I know this from experience of trying to help players such as you in the past.
