Horses.

Hello. in this post i'd like to suggest horses in the DayZ: SA, they could be in fields and you could find a saddle to put on them and ride them, horses would have needs too. They would need to be fed and watered regularly and kept warm with horse blankets. They would need antibiotics for horses which could be found in vetinary clinics if they got an infection, you could find different saddles with different carrying space, each saddle can hold equipment and supplies, the bigger your saddle, the more supplies the horse can carry, the best saddle can hold 2 two-handed weapon's and a pistol and 8 supplie slots.

Horses would not be erased at server restart (If possible) as there is no merit to "Horse hoarding".

Anyways. I don't think I'd mind the addition of horses. Maybe you could find tamed horses (race horses or something) that would have specific attributes enhanced, but are more rare.

Its a great idea, I have dabbled with a horse before in arma that was made a while back by deanosbeano but it was very buggy and would need alot of work for improvement.  I.E. first person would make you want to vomit whilst riding and its overall skin was good for it being a free add on but for dayz would need a boost.

yes it does look very promising apart from the first person, but a lot of things would need adding like hunger/food and blood it may have some of the same problems as dogs are having

Something to remember is that horses are not vehicles. You shouldn't be able to merrily ride your horse off a cliff or into an oncoming car. The horse would simply refuse.

 

Horses also spook very easily. I knew a horse that was terrified of chickens. Random gunshot? Maybe it rears up in panic with a chance of you falling off.
