meat pie 632 Posted July 20, 2013 So I know that the dayz version that you get of steam kinda sucks, but does anyone know if it can run servers using other maps, lingor, namlask, orgins, ect. Thanks!
DeathWatch Paul 39 Posted July 20, 2013 I have a steam version and with Dayz commander I can play any map/mod
SmashT 10907 Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) I'm not really following, you don't need DayZ if you are only playing other mods, you only need it if you are playing DayZ. You can't play any other mods unless you install them separately. DayZ on steam basically just launches ArmA with -mod=@dayz in the shortcut, @DayZ being the folder where DayZ is installed. applejaxc 2500 Posted July 20, 2013 What the hell do you mean the Steam version "Kinda sucks" ? That IS DAYZ...??? Anyway: Yes. Go into steamapps/common/whatever/whatever/@dayZ and just replace everything in their with your "Special better than DayZ youwish" and launch it like normal. SmashT 10907 Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) I assume you can just right click on DayZ mod or Operation Arrowhead on steam > properties > set launch options and add "-mod=@DayZOverwatch" as an example with whichever mods you want, obviously you would still need to install/update those mod folders manually though so I'm not sure why you would want to. applejaxc 2500 Posted July 20, 2013 This should sum it up pretty well. I haven't had any problems using it at all... and I thought he meant "Current version" as in "Current version of DayZ" (In Chernarus)
