armapilot 5 Posted July 19, 2013 Ok so this happens to all dayz servers. When I play with 30 people my fps is about 18-24 which is wonderful for my laptop. But when it gets over 40 my fps goes down to about 12 or 13. Im getting a new computer soon but just for the time being I would like to increase my FPS. Any tips or suggestions might help. Also My settings are all on low.
OfficerRaymond 2064 Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) There is no good you will get out of asking here dude. If there was a great way to increase fps, then it would be plastered everywhere. Particularly if you have all settings on low. Make sure Anti-Aliasing, Vsync, and Post-Process are all off, other than that, don't expect anything better. The only thing this thread is gonna draw, are people saying the same thing I have said, and keystealers posting links to fps boosters. Do NOT download ANYTHING to boost your FPS. This being said, if you do happen to get your key stolen after I have said this, then you deserve it tbh. lol Try Razer Game Booster by Razer. I run all my apps through it, and most say it doesn't help, but oh well. Edit: Probably sounds stupid to tell you to download something to boost your fps after telling you not to lol. But Razer is clearly not a malicious or dangerous program. :P Edited July 19, 2013 by OfficerRaymond
TIC 1050 Posted July 20, 2013 The problem with having over 40 players on the server is that it's all run down through client(You) with the information it processes. That means you have to consider all the dead bodies on the ground, cars wrecked, zombies spawned in and so-forth. DayZ/ARMA are both very CPU extensive. What I were to do is join a whitelisted server that isn't so congested and has frequent restarts. Have you done startup parameters, basic visual tweaks and .CFG file configurations? Yes I have messed with CFG. Here are my startup parameters: -nosplash -world=empty -maxMem=2047 -exThreads=7 -maxVRAM=256 -noCB
