DayZ Standalone Suggestions: Bleeding + Carry Weight

Recommended Posts

Hey there guys, I have a couple suggestions i would like to make for the DayZ standalone, these ones seem an original idea and haven't seen them anywhere else.

My first idea consists of Carry Weight; Will there be carry weight and stamina? If there will be either one, will the amount of items you are carrying effect your endurance/stamina?

My Second idea is Blood realism; Instead of having the old blood trailing out from your body, have a more realistic approach to it. This leads to Blood Staining clothes: Blood redness on inflicted area increases as more blood is lost.

This leads to my third point: As you run, your heart beats faster as more blood is pumped around the body; If you're running while bleeding, the more you run, the more blood is lost/lost at a faster rate.

Fourth point: As an idea, i suggest that Bandages could only decrease bleeding rates by a lot and in order to stop bleeding surgical glue or stitches are required to stop the bleeding, or the bandages slow bleeding to a stop instead.

Please comment on whether you think these are good suggestions, unless they've already been asked of which i'm unaware of. These ideas are to be developed upon too.

Hi there

I am not sure but i dont think there will be a stamina system and tbh i would rather there wasnt one implemented. At least not one that made you walk after 30 seconds of running.

As far as carry weight, i would just assume that there are only a certain amount of slots you can carry, rather than items having a particular weight.

Your blood ideas are interesting and having blood soaked clothes rather than blood pissing out of your ass would be interesting. I also agree about bandages, in that they shouldn't just stop bleeding outright but perhaps slow it down until you can fix yourself up a little better.

The first idea is probably aleready implemented...

The second idea i really like because it (probably) wouldnt be much trouble to implement even if they just make it so if you bleed a certain amount in your clothes then change clothes, the old clothes become named bloody clothes...

Or furthermore if they would go all out on that which isnt meeded then that would be cool (shades)

The third idea im not really sure thats almost too realistic and would probably be hard to implement...

The fourth idea just seems really hardcore, and from what ive been hearing, thats what dayz is starting to be now... Haaarddcoorees

Good ideas, most of them of already and hopefully implemented. And if you start a fight or do whatever you shouldn't do if you have a fresh wound that is stiched or large enough it should open up and you will bleed all over the place.

Well bandages do stop bleeding.. thats the point of them. Well that and to reduce blood flow if the former isnt possible.

Maybe 3 types of wounds.

1. minor ( small bandage will fix it end of)

2. medium ( large bandage will reduce flow by 75% or so only glue or sutchers will fix it)

3. major ( a bandage wont help because its hanging off.. only option is stitching or some other 2nd player induced aid)

something like that might be implemented or work quite well.
