What Problem do People have with dropping their Guns?

So me and my friend got the drop on a chap before he did.

My pal hid in a bush while i only had the grass to prone in.

Bush: Drop your weapon. Now.

Camo man walks back the to talking bush and pulls winchester off back and points saying: Why?

I get up to crouch, pointing mine at his 4 o clock saying: Because there's two of us. Drop it. We would have killed you by now if we wanted to. Move toward the coast and we'll leave you alone.

Man drops his winchester followed by pistol on the ground and ran toward the coast under our directions.

So finally, someone who valued his characters life and realised he could get away without being killed.

My friend picked the WCH up and we went on our way.

We couldn't believe we'd managed to pull it off, and it's great when it works.

If I was in the same situation, i'd have done the same. It isnt hard to find a new weapon.

That guy was a noob, you guys got extremely lucky. I would have zig zagged, taking advantage of the games poor netcode, while you or your friend shot at me and hit me a few times. While I bled out, I would have amassed the biggest amount of zombies I could around me while shooting off all remaining rounds of my winchester then died in that pile of zombies just to spite you guys lol. Thats what I do to people who try and steal my shit, I either destroy it, or make it nearly impossible for them to get it from my cold dead body. and then I kill myself until I get the closest spawn to where I died and then hunt you until your both dead, GG. All while, laughing my ass off at you in direct chat as you desperately try and chase me down.

Done this MANY times people to try and "hold me up", it's quite satisfying :D.

Thats rare then, I enjoy surviving. But part of the survival part is having something to defend yourself with, no defense=death in a zombie apocalypse. Even in real life if someone wanted to take my livelihood away from me in a zombie apocolypse(my gun, my food, etc..) I'd rather die and destroy everything I owned than be robbed and left for dead. So theres a valid reason behind what I do

Because a lot of people are actually pretty crappy shots if you start running around crazy. Plus I've won (or broke even) enough me with hatchet v AK or M16 battles that I like my odds.

Well then, clearly no matter what proof you get your not going to listen, your one of those who just likes to argue i see, why are you even in this thread to discuss this when your mind is already made up and nothing can convince you?

And yes because I've always had an automatic weapon pointed at them, a short burst if they twitch and they die, how hard is that to believe?

im not doing it just to argue, im just saying its extremely implausible that you've killed every person that's tried to get away. its very, very easy to get away from a person or even groups of people in dayz. all it takes is a couple zig zags to get behind something that blocks the aggressor's LoS and youre halfway to freedom. you say you have no 'ego' and then you go on this Billy-Badass tirade about how people never escape you and your group. ive played this game long enough to know that it (your story) is bullshit

I tell people to drop their weapon when I have them at a disadvantage, because I'm generally a pacifist and I'm actually not out to ruin someone else's fun. If they comply, then great. We do our business and I let them go. If not, I shoot them. It's that simple. I can't say whether I would comply or not on the receiving end. I'd rather just duke it out.
