Dear people of dayz,

Not that anyone cares about me really, but im going to bring us all on a trip wayyy back.... It was april or march 2012 and i could've sworn i was playing Dayz version 1.4 something, but i am probably wrong. Either way anyone who remembers it it was filled with hackers and sometimes you would die for no apparent reason, and the big hype was finding helicopters and running away from the hacker with the Jason mask on... Plus you had addon maps coming out shortly after and private hives and stuff... Now i log onto dayzmod.com, and i see that theres version 1.7.7 and im like "WHAT??" now i feel like i need to go and read all the changelogs and watch 80 game plays on youtube.

ps. i know im probably never supposed to mention this here, but i was playing warz for a while and it really is a trainwreck...

I'm guessing you want to ask what the game is like now? I will answer I guess.

Everyone has the KoS attitude, you see someone you kill or be killed. Why? Because there is no incentive to make temporary groups, permanent yes but not temporary.

There are no OP weapons anymore AS50, M107 and the Thermal L85 all taken out.

Zombies are difficult, very difficult. Infection is high and they do a lot of damage.

Loot is a lot lot rarer, be prepared to find a lot more tin cans. Look elsewhere for loot instead of the main areas.

Also, if someone is offensive use the "report button" dont take matters into your own hands as it only causes lengthy pointless argument threads.

Lastly rather than us keeping OP up to date, why not use the many threads and dev sites and do the work yourself?
