CD Key Stolen

Hello, I am a die hard DayZ player/fan, and I play this game on a nearly 5 hours a day schedule. I was not enjoying the game as much as I thought I should be, due to fps lag. My computer is not the best, and is probably why I receive avg. 18 fps. I decided to download a program to boost your game's speed for lower end PC's... as soon as I opened the program it close immdiately, I tried opening DayZ through DayZ Commander and I get a message saying, "Bad serial number given in setup". I have tried the tutorial through the stickied thread but I am unable to Verify integrity of game cache, due to my Arma 2 being bought from the store and non-steam. Our family is very poor and I cannot afford to buy another copy, please someone reply giving me a solution for non-steam users.

TL;DR

• Stolen key from "game enhancing program".
  
• I cannot verify integrity of game cache because I am non-steam.
  
• Need help.

I don't think "Bad serial number given in setup" has anything to do with your CD-Key. I would suggest reinstalling Arma 2 and DayZ.

Aha you might be having the same issue (and thus solution) as another guy I chatted with this week, he managed to fix it and I asked him to write out his steps which he did:

1, Run REGEDIT

2, Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

3, Expand Software

4, Expand Wow6432Node

5, Expand Bohemia Interactive Studio Not Bohemia Interactive

6, Click ArmA 2 OA, If you only see 1 file named "(Default)" And type REG_SZ then,

7, Right click the ArmA 2 OA file and go to Permissions

8, Left click YOUR USER, NOT! Users

9, After selecting your user click on Advanced

10, Yet Again click on your username for your pc and click on edit

11, In the drop down menu select This Key and Subkeys

12, You will see allow and deny make sure all allow boxes are ticked then click ok

13, you will be taken back one Dialogue box, Click Apply and OK and the same again on the

next dialogue box.

14, Now you should see 4 files sat in your ArmA 2 OA folder, Names, "(Default)" "Data" "Key" & "main"

15, Now play your game hassle free

I'm not sure... I am so stupid to download it and it's just one of those things that you wish you could go back in time and change...

I know this is a lot to ask, and I am sure I am going to get negative responses, but if any of you are nice enough to gift me a copy of this game through steam, that'd be the best thing to happen to me all year... I hope you know the situation I am in here and I admit myself stupid for downloading it.
