IMPOSSIBLE to get DayZ working

Recommended Posts

ive literally followed and tried every single thing in these threads... ive installed and uninstalled like 3 times... I bought the combined ops through steam... I get a million errors about communityproject blah blah... so I tried SIX... got rid of that error but brought up 100 more about things not being signed... installed every mod of DayZ I can find... tried copying folders into other folders... tried linking folders... I cant seem to find a single solution and now its just so frustrating and im bummed because I spent money for this to work lol... Is there some hidden secret I don't know about? Do I have to pray to a new god? HELP!!!??

First of all, install vanilla DayZ. You really think a modified mod is going to be EASIER to get working? (Origins) Second, you didn't say you have updated BattlEYE, ArmA2OA, or that you're running it through beta.

close steam

start steam in admin (right click and run as administrator)

right click on arma2 and properties then local files

click on verify integrity of game cache

and do the same for arma2 oa

run arma2 to the menu

run arma2 oa to the menu

click in expansions

make sure the following are enabled

arma2

arma2 oa

arma2 baf lite

arma2 pmc lite

if not enable them and restart then exit the game

then install the beta and dayz

pop to pub and get me a drink :)

Your whole story is a bit vague. Delete everything and start over because I guess you screwed it up so far it is beyond saveable now. Redownload an re-install everything, then launch both games once. After that install the beta patch -> http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php (the one in the green box is the latest) and download DayZ via DayZCommander. After that try to join a server via DayZCommander, also be sure you join the right server filter them by gamemode (DayZ only is vanilla).

You don't really need to do anything extra if you installed thru steam other than download dayz commander for a better server browser. Steam will install dayz mod and the beta patch for you. All I ever did was installed combined ops/OA beta patch/ and dayz mod all through steam, ran one time to get the config files generated, and then used dayz commander (commander will tell you if you are using all the current versions which you should be at that point)

BAHHUMBUG!!!! first of all you can reinstall till the morther fin cows come home and it wont do s***. well guess what i'll tell you a little trick with arma, its a parasite when u try to uninstall it. to completely remove arma 2 from your pc you either do a fresh install of windows, OR you go into your registry files through regedit and look for anything arma 2 related, such as Bohemia Interactive files, theres atleast 8 of them in there. get rid of those after u uninstalled arma 2. look in your documents and look for arma 2 profiles, make sure everything is out of your program file, then DISK CLEAN UP!!!. then restart

Open steam, Install arma 2 first, wait for it to install, then launch it. then exit at main menu.

Open steam, Install arma 2 OA, Wait for it to install, Then launch it. then exit at main menu.

If you have the DLC's like PMC and BAF install PMC first then launch it to main menu, then exit then install BAF, launch it to main menu, then exit.

Once you have done all of that, you then right click arma 2 and arma 2 oa and select properties, then go to local file tab, then verify game cache, once both are finish. guess what? you install dayz commander.

Once you have installed dayz commander, make sure your directories are correctly placed, make sure that you have the correct settings such as.

Check direct3d 9, check close dayz commander (after joining a server)

Addiitional launch parameters should have: "-Winxp" "-Maxmem=2047" "-nosplash" "-world=empty" "cpucount=#" (if you have a quad core u put 4 u got six core u put 6. jolly good!

then you go to the update/install tab, make sure that arma 2 beta is updated, then install dayz. .50 cal Headshot!
