Your First Time Playing DayZ

What was your first couple of weeks like playing DayZ for the first time? Curious on what everyone else expierenced!

I threw myself at zombies mercilessly for the first 2 or 3 lives.

Eventually got a fireaxe.

Met a get when my legs were broken. He game me a ride with his bike, then when we saw some players he gave me a FN FAL to defend myself. I immediately shot him and took his M107 + the rest of his stuff that I could carry.

He respawned and killed me with a frag grenade.

Oh. That was over a year ago.

Let mess see my first weeks was:

Spawn in hit the lay down key and crawl everywhere to avoid zeds. I remember getting killed in the TEC building down in Elektro's Harbour, which took me about half an hour of crawling to get there without attracting a Zombie. Very Intense. On day too I spawned in Komarovo and on the way into the village suddenly had an AKM in hands. Back then I thought I had just auto picked it up while walking through a bush because someone dropped it there. Now of course I know that was the first Time I got hacked. Nevertheless next thing I did was take the roof of Komarovo's TEC building and shoot any player that would come across. ANd off course all those zombies. All in all the first few weeks were VERY INTENSE, because, allthough they weren't I thought Zombies were the biggest threat in the game.

I really hope that mod and standalone both achieve the goal of making the zeds a real threat so I can get back that feeling of the first days.

I was somewhat nervous those first few log ins but I learned real quick to bolt for the trees. First time I played I tried to be friendly with people but after getting shot in the face a few times I decided to just avoid people. I played for awhile and didn't say anything to anyone, then I met a bandit trying to crawl 3000 meter back to a hospital for blood and moriphine and I had to make a quick decision, shoot him/her or patch em up. That bandit ended up giving me my first real gun an aks74 kobra for fixing him/her up. 10 minutes later that bandit and his/her crew ran me over with a black SUV because I thought standing in the middle of the road trying to catch a ride was a good idea

First time I played (A couple weeks ago) I went into Elektro, went into a hut. A player opened the doors and shot me with a makarov and I died. Second time I ran into Elektro and was killed by zombies.

The first time I spawned, I had zombies chasing me within a minute. I didn't know the keys or what to do, so

I just ran around Benny Hill style until I bled out. I was giggling with fear the whole time, especially because

I couldn't shake the zombie which makes that evil rabid dog noise; that sound still haunts me to this day.

My first experience, spawned in pitch black the side-chat was alive with chatter. So the first thing i decide to do is head for some distant shadows I can see across the skyline, all of a sudden I come across a road. I ask in side-chat a few questions being new and people are nice and I get some handy tips, while all this is happening I've travelled about three hundred meters.

So i decide it's time i light up the way, i'm there throwing my flares in every direction. Not realising I can pick them up and with only 1 flare remaining i come to the conclusion that i'll have to make my way along the road.

So i leave behind me in the distance the safey of the flares and start to venture into the pitch darkness again. Slowly making my way along the road, then all of a sudden i can hear moaning and nearly shit myself.

Now at this point I've got one flare left so i decide to us it and send it up the road, it lights up a small village, that's when i get my first glimpse of the infected. I start to plan what course of action i should take, then unexpectedly my flare starts moving another survivor has picked it up and is running off with it leaving me in total darkness.

Long story short i didn't last about 3 minutes after that. (I miss that feeling of helplessness).

I got spawn camped and sniped when i was on the beach, i got lifted up into the air and smashed onto the ground during a hack attack, i hid in a bush for 20 mins till the zombies had gone away, i still have not seen the nw airfield i've heard about and every time i go near a trading camp in epoch i get shot - just restarted playing this after a 3 month lay up - frustrating is the word!

I was having a pretty fun time, anyways we trekked over to berezino and they decided after almost 3 weeks of playing together to screw me over right there and than, shot me in the back of the head and i died... but i respawned in the same spot with all my gear it was really weird. Anyways after being betrayed after such a long ass time thinking they were actually my "friends" i got pissed, followed them around on dayz commander and buttfucked them a month later over and over in my buddies helicopter... Pretty amazing feeling giving that payback :)

I started playing dayz over 2 years ago, it was the period where it had a ton of hype and youtube was filled with videos, it looked extremely cool so I got it.

Spawned somewhere in a field near the coast, it was extremely dark and I could hear zombies all over the place, I scouted the area like every 30 seconds seriously, took an hour before I moved through that tiny field and into the village, but then I got chased by the zombies and died.

I respawned at a similar place, saw some fellow noobs running around with flares along the coast, I was absolutely clueless so I just started moving towards the forest where I met two guys.

They were friendly enough and we started going through the forest together, which took ages because of the darkness. Nothing happened until later on we also met another guy, we made a fireplace and camped for a bit because those 2 guys I met in the start had to leave, we didn't do much after that, the last guy also left and I was all alone so I just disconnected too.

This was my first time playing, one of the best game experiences I can remember.

Its different now, zombies are too predictable and you never feel like sneaking around carefully etc.

It personally doesn't scare me anymore, before while I was still learning stuff I used to get adrenaline rushes, never experienced anything like that before in any game.

Hopefully the standalone makes the zombies and the whole game more unpredictable so experienced players still get that dayz feel.

1st time: spawn in. zombie aggros. swim around for a while. realize zombies swim too. go back to shore. get hit at some point by zombie. bleed to death heading into the treeline north of kamenka. clueless how i died.

zombies were scary. i tried very hard not to aggro.

i crawled most of the way from stary to nw airfield once.

yelled friendly or trusted too easily, and got shot a lot.

So my first 6 hours of dayz was spent running from a hoard of zombies from town to town, finally I talked things out with the zombies while they ate my flesh. After that i found a lovely bullet in my head given to me by a trolling bandit, BTW it was a lovely AS50 round i was shocked and felt glad to know i was so special that he wasted that round on me, The i spent the next 4 hours trying to kill zombies with cans of beans and flares, and it work pretty good until the zombies attacked and raped my soul with what they call manners. After all of this I spawned in to be hit by a bus, I then crawled to the hospitable to be shoot once again by a lovely bandit name Trolling Noob Killer, He killed me with a grenade, so i would say i had a great first 16 hours of Dayz gameplay <3 i love this game and all of the ass holes too <3

I ran towards a zombie thinking it was a survivor...and basically, I was eaten by 76,000 zombies.

After that I found a hatchet, and hid in bushes thinking someone was shooting at me when I used it.

First time I played. Thats hard to remember, I think I paired with a guy and killed him when he had his back turned but I regret it. My first real kill was me on the firehouse in cherno and I picked off a sniper on top of the tall building with my lee enfield.

i remember my first weeks of dayz: having no regard for my life because the zombies couldnt catch up with me, getting mauled in small buildings by the horde i picked up when i went in for a wincheser, NEVER leaving cherno/electro, trusting anyone who said freindly and thinking an alice pack with an AKM and a cz 550 was the best loadout ever. And of couse being shot, alot

I was on skype with my friend and we actually made it pretty far, we got a truck, a couple guns, blood bags, ammo, etc. We traveled up towards Stary and passed Zelenogorsk. We got out to look around and check the map, when my friend told me there was a jeep coming. We got in an epic gunfight and I died right at the end.

Or it was that time I fell down the stairs in a barn, broke my legs and bled out.

I'll let you seperate the truth from the falsities. It'll sharpen your mind.

I usally spent most my time in the woods. It would take me HOURS just to find a Winchester. But, I still enjoyed myself! :)

I was scared as hell!

My first spawn was in Electro, never going to forget it.

I spawned in the docks, right next to the big cranes. I looked around, saw a few Zed, was "oh gosh, oh GOD, oh my!", and ran to the crane and climbed up. I climbed to the top, while two zeds were stalking at the bottom. I waited until they moved on, climbed down, and went west. Found a shed and a Hatchet in it! I was like "Oh my GOD a weapon". I naturally could not figure out at first how to equip it. Also found a soda.

I then tried making my way into the city, but soon after that got hit by Zeds, started bleeding and died :)

My blood pressure was in the SKY, and I instantly started again. Had quite a few other interesting stories, but my favorite is probably the time I spawned near Kamenka, and went LEFT. Yes, I ended up on the side of the map, it was horrifying :D
