Cap'n (DayZ) 1827 Posted June 26, 2013 Well, I'm afraid this is going to turn into an ego booster. Anyways, I'd prefer if you all be honest about it. So, how good are you at the game in general? Do you have any certain skills? What are those skills? I'll be honest, I'm not that good. I have most of the basic controls nailed down and I can shoot alright up to 200 meters. Anything pass that is up to my luck. I have found myself to be utterly baller in close quarters, murdering everything with two legs and bad intentions whens its close(might be my panic mode kickin' in :D)
Cap'n (DayZ) 1827 Posted June 26, 2013 I'm meh. That's the general consensus from my experience :P
Korsbaek 1778 Posted June 26, 2013 I'm great at camping Elektro with AS50 on the old patch. The people on my server adore me. I am like their god.Ok... I'll try being a little more serious. I would say I'm average. Not really good, not really bad. But I suck at close quarters...

Dagwood 680 Posted June 26, 2013 My best attribute is staying focused and not making stupid mistakes. My biggest problem in my first few months was letting boredom/complacency get the better of me and making stupid tactical decisions that got me killed. Survival in this game for me is all about vigilance
dulix11 731 Posted June 26, 2013 (edited) I'm alright, the major problem I have is getting rid of those damn zombies! Edited June 26, 2013 by dulix11
Maca (DayZ) 769 Posted June 26, 2013 (edited) I usually die a lot, not because i suck at the mod (then again I might) and i rarely kill anybody. Most of my deaths are from trying to man-hug to many strangers(Blood-bagging). Its not really going to be an epic battle when all i've got is my reliable hatchet. As you can guess my skillset is mostly a trustworthy saviour.Edit: I need to spice up my post a little after reading all the other posts. I think i'm also a very confident pilot when it come to the An-2 Biplane, can land that thing on a dime and fly it upside down under the Cherno bridge (That might be a slight exaggeration, but i will). But I have flown under it a few time and lived. Edited June 26, 2013 by Maca
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) 1747 Posted June 26, 2013 I've been adapting. I die much less frequently than I used to. As long as I'm really focused and in-state, I tend to win maybe 60% of my engagements. Also I've gotten pretty efficient at finding a toolbox and parts to repair whatever vehicle I may come across. Mostly what it boils down to is diligence. I have to remember to stay "in my head" or whatever, lest I make some completely moronic move that gets me shot. It's funny, but after playing this game for more than a year now, I can feel that my perception has actually changed slightly, even in real life situations. I notice that I tend to scan environments more thoroughly than I ever did before, and I take in much more information before I make any kind of momentary decision. It's weird, but this game has actually taught me patience, awareness, preparedness, and most importantly, persistence. Also I'm a lot more stealthy. I think more... tactically. Has anyone else noticed this about themselves?
Mos1ey 6301 Posted June 26, 2013 I'm alright, wouldn't label myself as a 'pro' or anything. I take a lot of risks. The early game gearing up part is my favourite and I play solo most of the time (which means not having to meet up with people) so I don't really have much of a fear of death, lol. Saethkept 134 Posted June 26, 2013 I am one heck of a helicopter pilot, and I tend to have great luck flying or driving away from conflict. If you're on board or aboard a vehicle I am at the helm of, chances are you will escape danger with your life intact ... until we run out of fuel, crash and die in a spectacular ball of flame and beans. Other than that, I can devise a good ambush when sufficiently annoyed by other players. Everything else ... I am my own worst enemy.
Ozelot (DayZ) 394 Posted June 26, 2013 I prefer to use fear to defeat my enemies rather than relying on any particular type of weapon. Does that make me good? Who knows.Unfortunately zombies are beyond such base human emotions. In that way at least they are more evolved and stronger than mere humans are.
applejaxc 2500 Posted June 26, 2013 (edited) EDIT: I read the first post as, "How good are you at gameS in general" not "How good are you at THE game in general" ...I'm really good at not being shot, but when it comes to DayZ combat I've got a really weak stomach. There's a lot of exchanging pock-shots before I just run away. I'm not tactically smart in DayZ, standing on obvious rooftops and running around like an idiot with no plan, but I've also got incredible luck and it's turned out pretty well so far; I pretty much only die from grenades and satchel charges I've placed, my car flipping over and exploding, or jumping off of rooftops when my keyboard registers 1xW as 2xW.In ArmA 3, I always use more ammo than necessary and have really bad weapon/attachment combinations. I'm pretty solid against other players but I can't beat aimbot AI within 100 meters.I'm really good at Halo 4. I'm up about 400-something more kills than deaths and it's the only online FPS where I've got less than half my kills in assists. I've never gotten a "15 kills and no deaths" challenge completed, but I'm working on it. I usually play 4 or 5 episodes of Spartan Ops then turn my Xbox off, though; the multiplayer isn't incredibly enthralling.I'm terrible at Halo: Reach and Halo 3. God awful. Couldn't hit a single thing online.I'm not incredible at Battlefield 3. I can only use a sniper rifle at medium-close range with a 4x scope. I like to play the medic that can sprint into a room, revive 4 players, then run back out before a grenade kills all of them again. I find the helicopter controls and gameplay extremely forgiving (you can crash a AH6 into a building 3 or 4 times and take minimal damage) so I spend a lot of time taxiing people around. I often wish ArmA 2/3 jets worked something like BF3. The planes and all are just too damn fast in ArmA for me. ArmA also needs to differentiate between parts; the entire vehicle is just "Hull" instead of engines, wings, et cetera the way it ought to be. I'm not good at tanks in ArmA or Battlefield.I'm pretty good at RPG games online, but I don't have a lot of patience for grinding and other MMORPG players. For example, I know a really kickass way of making a dual-wielding elf Cleric badass in DDO without spending money on extra character points and crap, and I can run through all the quests "Solo" without needing other players to kill/cast spells/heal/whatever for me, but every time I'm in a "Public" area, people are like, "Eww you did XXX instead of ZZZ and you should have YYY'd instead of WWW'd your character." And my patience, now, can only summon the response of "Stfu, /ignore *playername*"I'm fantastic in Minecraft. In single player, I'll get diamond armor, sword, and pick axe in under 12 hours (non consecutively), and I have some pretty ingenious redstone creations. I hate Minecraft multiplayer because there is no healthy sense of community anymore. Everything is "PvP RAID FACTIONS BUKKIT LOLOLOLOLOLFAGYT SERVER." MineZ was fun for a while, but they really need to fix their mod. I enjoyed Tekkit Classic, but the Technic launcher stopped supporting it. My friend and I are in a space-race with the new Tekkit to see who can colonize the moon first. I put a dimensional door in his base then destroyed it. The rip in space-time turned his nice house into a really ugly hole in the side of a mountain.Star Made, a game that I know is going to be really popular before long, is a lot of fun but it's easy to spend 2 or 3 hours building a spaceship without realizing how much time you've wasted. It's another game to have a fun space race in, but I usually have really cheap ships with 33 foot long missile pods (the more pods you have connected, the stronger the missile/the faster the battery reloads) that can tunnel through entire planets in 1-2 shots.Has anyone played State of Decay? I find guns and ammo in almost every building I enter. People often praise the zombie apocalypse game as being "Devoid of ammo to create the sense of scavenging and survival" they want so much, but I can mow entire hordes of zombies without putting a dent in my inventory and it pisses off everyone I know that plays it. Henryllex~ 407 Posted June 26, 2013 im good in what it is close quarter combat with fals or m14s, m4ccos and aks, but sniping i enjoy it, but im not really good at it. I can fly the little bird without crashing, can fly in towns at almost 0 altitude and can escape trouble, i normally die out of a squad taking over us or friendly fire. bsturak2@verizon.net 86 Posted June 26, 2013 Im not gonna lie, Im great in a firefight. In Cherno I killed a group of 4 bandits all with M 4s and AKs. I used my M4. I took one by surprise but the others I all killed while they ran and tried to kill me. And one time a sniper shot my UAZ wheel, I ran out, him shooting me and missing till I found him and killed him. And Ive been in, I believe 7 firefights in NWAF, Ive won 6 of those.
