Scarylarry 0 Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) Was looking at starting a LAN server for my friends and I, considering our internet is unreliable and slow.I know its frowned at, but considering i've lost countless hours of gameplay due to hackers, I don't have the will to lose anymore to them.I've heard things about the DayZ control center, but when I downloaded it, my Antivirus is saying that its Malicious. The last thing I want to do, is give away my CD key to some hackers for trying to avoid hackers....lolSo does anyone have any insight on this program? And why is my antivirus saying that about it? Does the program actually work, or does it just copy your CD key and sell it to the highest bidder. Thanks, I tried searching, but couldn't come up with a good answer on these forums, or google... Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted June 22, 2013 If you download anything that isn't from an official source then you always run the risk of it being a keystealer.
TheDesigner 1197 Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) What the hell is DayZ Control Center? If it promises to run a single player server for you and your friends for free, for the love of Rocket don't download it. Edited June 22, 2013 by TheDesigner
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) Just save yourself a lot of pain and find a good server to play on. I know many players that literally haven't encountered a hacker for months now. Edited June 22, 2013 by Fraggle

If it promises to run a single player server for you and your friends for free, for the love of Rocket don't download it.I think he is talking about the Dayz Server Control Center http://www.dayzcc.tk/ but not sure what he could have possibly downloaded from there that would cause this issue. Steak and Potatoes 13480 Posted June 22, 2013 I'm confused. Are you running a server for you and your friends and you need DayZcc for some reason? Or... ?Sounds like he went to Dayz CC to try and run his own server for him and co. to avoid hackers. Went to DL files and his antivirus read it as malicious which lead him to ultimately not DL.

Vicco 123 Posted June 23, 2013 I use DayzCC for single-player and playing with my partner. It's legit, and nobody can hack it, if you PW protect it. It's robust, and from what I've read on the DayzCC forum some are using it to host 40 players. That depends on your PC hardware and connection speed.I gather it's the basic server used by Dayz Priv, a hosting outfit. But without all the server admin control bells and whistles. It still has some development connection to Dayz Priv, though they are different entities.Unless you have tools and SQL abilities, you'll basically be playing vanilla. But there's a loadout SQL generator that allows you to easily paste whatever loadout you want into the control panel configure loadout window. The control panel also provides some common admin functions. Delete/repawn vehicles is one.It also supports about 8-9 other vanilla maps. Lingor. Takistan, Taviana, etc.You should have decent computer skills if you want to install and run it, but it's pretty easy to use.Don't expect hand-holding support.Novogeek is the sole developer now, and is doing a bang-up job in keeping it going. He expects to release the newest version, which supports Dayz 1.7.7.1, in a few days. That will be DayzCC version 5.9.3.0Wait until he releases that, because anything else - except the old package supporting 1.7.6 - is a mess.I'm running Dayz 1.7.7 with the old DayzCC version 5.9.2.0 with no issues I care about, but obviously new elements like stashes aren't in the DB. But 5.9.2.0 won't run Dayz 1.7.7.1 for me. So I'm looking forward to the new CC release. 1.7.7 is brutal even with no PvP.Having said all that, playing single or with a partner on your own server is only good for "training" with no PvP to deal with. That's a lot different than mixing it up on public servers. You won't have any "fun" at all once you've adequately trained and seen the scenery. You could do pretty much the same by finding a low-pop server, and I've done that too. novogeek 253 Posted June 25, 2013 I am the developer of DayZ Control Center, I have taken over the development from Crosire. It is 100% legit and does not do anything other than run a server for you. It provides you access to map features and other adminy things ... take a look at the website for more information if you want to.v5.9.2.0 supports DayZ v1.7.6.1v5.9.3.0 supports DayZ v1.7.7.1 (Chernarus only)
JerryAtricks 1 Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) So the DAYZCC website seems to no longer be functional. Is there anywhere I can still download this? Edited December 26, 2013 by JerryAtricks
squadorn 6 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) I know this thread is a few months old but thought I'd answer the last post. I have taken over the entire project and am now the developer of CC. CC is still being updated and the website is still going strong. You can find us over at www.dayzcc.org now though.
