Pomegranate 83 Posted June 16, 2013 They need to add RPG-7's to the game, or else helis are pretty much impossible to shoot down. The only decent weapon to destroy helicopters currently are the m240 and mk 48, but that'll be extremely hard with anything other than a littlebird. Even if you manage to shoot out the main rotor, the pilot could still land it safely quite a distance away. I was on a private hive in my armoured humvee and I drove past someone who started shooting me with a Makarov......... yes....... a Makarov. I would have driven straight past him but he started shooting me when he would have no chance of doing anything much to me. So I got out and shot him in the face with my M14, next thing I see down Side Channel 'OMG that's unfair you have better gear' then he said something about my Mother...Just let the Chopper pass you and stay hidden. Those Mi-17s are like whales at turning and it is actually pretty difficult to shoot straight out of them due to the non existent stabilisation. If the chopper just autohovers then they may be stabilizing it to have good shot from the machinguns, but when the chopper is going lower just let it land. Last week I saw a little bird landing, moved up on it, and when the engine as off shot both pilot and passenger with my winchester and got miself a chopper. I was gonna land on NEAF, and a guy started shooting with an AK, if he waited for me to land there was no way I'd survive Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

There's no need to shoot it down anyway if it's the unarmed one, it's not a threat. Fair enough something with rockets or machine gunners but if it's unarmed then why bother.Also I'm not sure if shooting the main rotor does much, I mean I used to fix up choppers (hueys) minus the main rotor and it worked fine from memory. Even the anti torque rotor isn't too big of a deal, not saying it's anywhere near easy to fly but if you lose it you can usually get moving and escape a fair distance before landing. Problem is people fight it and the chopper just dips out of control, if you let it go in one direction and take it carefully you should be ok. There should only be transport helis in this game anyhow. I don't care how long it took your little clan buddies to loot cycle other servers and then fix one up on the server you run admin on. If you can just fly it over cherno/elektro with wild abandon gunning down unarmed people with it, why does it exist?Don't mistake me either.
