That aside, I started playing DayZ around February 2012. Stopped around October 2012 and have just started playing again in the last few weeks. When I was playing regularly I saw some utter sh*te posted on here by morons who liked to pretend they knew what they were talking about and who expected everything to be perfect, but this is just incredible in comparison.

You know, as long as DayZ is based on Arma2, that's what you're going to get with the "tackle" feature, right?

They cannot, to my understanding, make the animation any better. It is literally impossible, because a proper "tackle" (or much of anything) was never put into Arma 2 so you can't fault coders for modifying something that never existed.

It's the same with "getting pulled from a vehicle if you are driving slow, and a Z attacks you, and your window is broken". You will simply be prone.

No, it's not realistic. It's close enough. Just like building a fireplace, gutting an animal, burying a body, or sprinting while carrying 40 liters of gaoline through the woods.

If the tackle sucks, they will remove it.

In some ways, yes - in others, no.

He's typical of the 'bad' side of the community. They register (usually after a patch), moan, bitch and complain about whatever it was that was changed that they didn't like and then vanish within a week. They're entirely interchangeable and leave no lasting impression on the community or the game other than a bad taste in the mouths of those that have to interact with them. They'll have slowed down a bit in a week or two.

However, he is NOT typical of the larger community, which most of the time is actually populated by some pretty decent folk who have a lot to offer with regards to intelligent debate and discussion about the game, and I'd urge you not to judge all of us by this idiot's behaviour.

Absolutely. Apologies if I came across that way. It's just unfortunate that a lot of the time the biggest morons are the most vocal. Those clowns aside, the DayZ community is pretty great.

Indeed. The absolute worst time for someone to see/visit the DayZ community is just after a new patch, as all the RUINED FOREVER types come out and start complaining about everything.

That's not to say that anyone who doesn't immediately love the patch is a whiner, but there's a mountain of evidence that Rocket would probably be interested in climbing that suggests that many of the complainers simply register to rant, then give it a week and realise that actually, things aren't as bad as they were making out and go back to quietly enjoying the game.
