I'm not entirely sure how many people were nominated. Specific infomation about the coming external closed testing may be discussed at E3.

I keep thinking I've missed the boat on this topic, though.

I don't like how as soon as Frankie says something it becomes automatic common knowledge among the DayZ community. It's obnoxious.

The "public" alpha will of course be public, however there will be a release for YouTubers and streamers etc. before the public build is available.

The current planning for release (as far as I am aware) is:-

- External Closed Testing (comprising of streamers and various other members of the community)

- Public Alpha Release (which will have limited keys released in batches upon the bug-fixing/satisfaction of the external closed testing builds)

The 100 to 150 people is also the number the dev team is looking for as how big the servers will be.

Maybe someone mixed some facts up about those numbers

Did "Frankie" cite a source for this info? It's just we've become used to speculation, sadly many people read speculation as facts now days.

Not limited access, just Streamers/YouTube'ers will begin playing shortly before us, not sure if thats some sort of reward for helping the mod become popular though..?

Everyone should have the same amount of access though. To be honest, It would be best to wait and see what Rocket says at E3. Some of the guys on YouTube have spread false hope or worried people on more than one occassion..

I remember reading that they wanted to release keys for the game in batches at a time, just to ensure that they don't release 2,000,000 game keys to have the servers/hive completely melt down and destroy the rep from the game on release day. Kind of like a deterrent to ensure what happened to Sim City doesn't happen to DayZ..

Cheers. Well, TBH you don't have anymore info than I do. Obviously before the public alpha release the servers will have to be stress tested as will the engine/game so maybe streamers/YT'ers will be a part of the larger tests whilst also allowing them to make the gameplay public as they do so.

So far our testing has all taken place using relatively small amounts of people so it would make sense.

Who knows? Not me.

Rocket said, they are already 30-100, so I don't think so and he said he reads the forum a lot and this is the time you can answer rocket!

Okay people can we Google this type of thing before starting another topic which has been common knowledge for the last couple of months and stop believing everything Frankie doesn't source?

Thank you.

He's probably hibernating from the RC incident.

In my opinion it'd be rather wise(at least, far from stupid) to grant youtubers/streamers early access.

Considering they will be the ones posting videos, which a lot of people will see. While the average 'I want to play Dayz NOW!' player will just keep it to himself mostly (And even if they'd want to share it, they don't have thousands of subscribers).

I think they should send it to the people with high end computers for they will be more dedicated to test the game in most cases.

Then half the people will start replying saying they run an i7 @ 5.0Ghz and Titan SLI, although the Loadout beta had something where it detects your hardware to see what kind of setups get what results to better optimise the game. Generally speaking most Streamers and YT'ers run high end hardware for obvious reasons, and those who struggle will be able to give feedback to improve optimisation for low/mid-end setups.

I'm going to take a guess and say this represents yourself accurately?

They should send it to people who have both "The" and "Designer".
