New Update Wiping Everything?

Recommended Posts

I don't have much time to scour the forums for the answer, I apologize, i'm just looking for a quick answer

I've heard rumors that the next dayz mod update is going to wipe everyone's character data, as well as tents on all servers. Character data, includes everything in your inventory, location on map, humanity, etc.

is this true?

The new update is only good for public hives and who plays on them anyway?

There's no reason why private hives can't run the new update.

Or am i misunderstanding you?

And at OP, no there's no plan to wipe the hive.

Apparently people still play on public hives (like ours and alot more). Not every1 needs 100000 vehicles and TWS guns..

People that don't like abusive admins and want to be able to play regardless of the status of a single server? I like public servers...

Well, it's the main reason. People use the excuse, "I want to avoid hackers" or whatever all the time to join servers that start them with a free gun. I've had a lot more hacker incidents on private hives than public ones.

I went through the private hive phase and I'm back to public...... it's just boring having vehicles everywhere and loads of military loot. That said the stock game needs to up the vehicles just a little bit because I haven't seen one in a month, I swear they're broken and not spawning any more. I also haven't seen ghilie suits or sniper rifles or anything, I dunno what is going on with loot atm but it seems to be not spawning right.

OP:

The only thing that will get "wiped" so-to-speak is the m107 and AS50, I believe. I guess they'll be rendered useless, to be more accurate, but you get the idea.

What about the people that play on 'vanilla' private hives?

Then good on them, and I wish them the best of luck in trying to find a populated, vanilla private server. I don't see the point in it, though. Sure public servers have ghosters, "reportedly" more hacker incidents, and all sorts of other issues, but you don't see them getting DDOS'd to high heaven and dying more often gives me a lot more reason to play.

I personally prefer public vanilla hive, chernarus is the most immersive map imo, besides, the amount of scripters in south american servers with a 100+ auto kick is none (apparently).
