Radeon 7850 OC Crazy Laggy

Recommended Posts

Hello, i'm new to DayZ. I bought it about a day ago, set it up, and now it lags like crazy(20-40fps on low settings).

Specs:

GFX: Sapphire Radeon 7850 1gb Overclocked Edition

OS: Windows 7 64-bit

CPU: i3-2120 Clocked at 3.30GHz

Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Is there anything I can do to not make this as laggy? I wouldn't expect it to lag as much as it does with my GPU.

Not really mate,Its just DayZ isnt very optimized.Everyone has these problems.Search the forums and you will find a thread or two about getting a few extra fps with some minor tweaks.

In arma your CPU is much more important than in most games. With a dual core you'll only get so much regardless of how good your GPU is.

The 7850 should be fine for DayZ. My group records with 7850's just fine. It's mostly CPU bound like said above. Your CPU isn't the best.

I can also confirm rolling the beta patch back helps.

Also are you talking about in cherno? Cherno seems to bring even really good system's to it's knees. I run 10-15 FPS in cherno, and 30-40 anyplace else.

it might be because you have the lates OA beta patch installed and that makes the game crazy laggy.

roll back to 103419

this has some useful tips in aswell.

Trying this. If it works I will think of you when I masturbate. ;)

Pro tip...

Turn most of your video settings to high. You're card can handle it and it will take a bunch of strain off your CPU.

Never put settings on low. Your CPU is pretty low end, and switching settings to low makes your CPU work too hard.
