DayZ Origins 1.7.5 preview

Recommended Posts

I was really thrilled about the 'FPS boost' and the way things are done server side.

I assume you don't know when's the release date. At least I'm glad they are working on it, seems pretty good imho.

Cheers

I heard that there will be an option to knock people out or will this be added in the update 1.8.X ?

E: @Argamore

They sell this files, so they are interested to make updates and get MONEY!

I'm a bit puzzled about what you mean about selling the server files? I think its more of every service provider wants to cash in on solid work and cant. From my side of things I see a bunch of passionate developers evolving a mod just like the 500 others out there. Its just this one seems to have a lot of momentum when it comes to implementing ideas and not just talking about them. Maybe the people who sit there for hours implementing such ideas get paid good for them the deserve it and have kids to feed. But for the rest of us we are end users who pay nothing to play what I consider a damn good mod to rise up out of the strap DayZ onto another map and watch people play It for 5 minutes and then leave.

So if they were making enough money to get the servers ticking over, how does that make them different from every other server provider selling panthera or epoch compatible servers? they are all making money from the mod. This focus on Origins seems to be due to its popularity. But yet there is a whole ton of servers to play on and people complain. My hunch is " hosted server providers" who don't have access to origins kicking up all this stealing crap because they are not getting their $'s. There is no logic in it and as a player, the end user I have never not been able to find a decent server to play on.

On a side note because I think this debate should be more out in the open than it is. Take a look at what they have done. The progress that they have made and features they promised are being implemented. Working for people to play now not in years but weeks and months. I think the work should be appreciated because it seems 6 months ago everyone was excited and giving them full support. The community is huge. Just think at what they could achieve if they had the financial backing of bohemia or any company willing to invest in people with good ideas and the passion to improve on what we have. I fully support what Rocket is trying to accomplish with the SA as well btw I am a gamer I play the result. A mod becomes successful and then it becomes stealing.... that's kind of too harsh. If these forces were to combine damn things would fly.

To be honest, Origins doesn't have much to do with rockets dayZ anymore. it's basically a game on it's own.

I think there were developers they took more stuff from, than rocket. But still, some features are their own and in times where mods that come out are basically collections of arma2 mods put onto a regular dayz installation, you should give them some credit for what they do.

I don't agree with their model, but at least they provide unique content. That's rare.
