DayZ Downstream

DayZ Downstream is an adaptation of original DayZ mod with all of the popular additions people like to see, without taking it too far from how it used to be. You may think that a number of the features mirror what has been seen in Breaking Point, the reason for this is simple. The creators of each were working together on the mod before parting companies. The developers are constantly working to add exciting new features and ensuring that no bugs, lag/desync or glitches ruin your gameplay.

Although the current servers are linked a full wipe will be performed within the coming week, we hope this will help place everyone on an even playing field whilst the mod is launched.

Website and Clan system integrated with your in-game items

  • Merged registration and whitelisting
  • View your characters data, humanity, time alive, Zombies, Survivors and Bandit kills
  • Track your clan and personal tents online
  • “Top Alive” view the Top 10 Bandits, Zed Killers and survivors, compete for the position This had led to very competitive squad based game play on the servers
  • Vehicle spawn locations mapped
  • Current vehicles per server

In Game

  • New Weapons along with some of the old sounds changed; A full list of side arms and primary weapons can be found here: http://zombiespain.e...secundarias.php[2] andhttp://zombiespain.e...s/primarias.php[3]
  • 100+ Vehicles, kept similar to the original Dayz mod. Only Pickups and Hueys are armed. Some adjustments to vehicles have been made, such as “offroads” are actually offroads. Vodnik’s armor values reduced.
  • Dynamic crash sites
  • More clothes than just Ghillie and Camo suites Clothes can also be removed from dead survivors In addition a premium section will allow a certain set of clothes to be used for your entire clan*2
  • Additional Backpacks, complete with rarity and slot sizes changed appropriately
  • DayZ2017 Zombies models and sounds, as well as making new noises, they also make more noise! They also do more damage and have a high chance of knocking you unconscious, players will have to worry about Zombies!
  • R3F’s Artillery and Logistics scripts, vehicles can be towed, lifted and smaller vehicles can even be loaded into others, if it fits!
  • Arma Electircal Grid; working power plants and electrical grid providing working lighting for the night Along with full moon nights, players can actually play in the dark!
  • Vehicles can be Automatically refueled from fuel tanks (not petrol stations)
  • Silvershots Vehicle Salvage Script
  • SMKLite animations, combat roll, stances etc
  • Additional Buildings across the map
  • Bambi Bus Service; An NPC driven bus travels from Berezino to Kamenka to ferry the recently spawned.
  • Spawn in by parachute; when players first spawn they have the option of spawning by parachute or on the ground
  • Cannibalize; players can gut zombies and players for meat, but run the risk of infection if eaten
  • Zombie Shield; create a frequency emitter to attract and kill zombies within a 30m radius

Work in Progress

  • Server optimization; on going work as the mod is developed and grows to ensure it is always stable and enjoyable for it’s players
  • Zombie Bait, bait zombies to a location while you loot safely
  • W4rgo’s Custom Base Building and Houses Lockable houses to secure your loot while you go hunting, complete with it’s own alarms

Combat Logging Prevention

  • 5 second delay on Abort
  • Character remains in the game for 30 seconds after logging out (during which, any hit will kill the character)
  • 10 minutes delay on server switch

Additional Notes

  • The Premium section is based around donations to assist with the running costs of the servers. These donations will not get you gear on the server, only a choice of clothing.
  • Apologizes if any credit has not been given for a script found on the Armaholics or Opendayz sites. The content used has been greatly beneficial and also influential on the mods features and smooth running
  • Additional servers will also be added as and when required should the player base demand it.

So basically this is breaking point with your own spin on it, houses, zombie bait and whatnot, the bus service etc,

So is there currently anything that is still in progress that would like to share?

I didn't see your first reply, but I did address the reason it is similar to Breaking Point right up at the top, it seems a word was missed out though... I've fixed it.

I'm not going go into it anymore than that, it's not my place. The post above also already lists the "work in progress".

Very amusing post.

Well yes that is like Breaking Point but most hilarious thing is that there woulda be no Breaking Point without Downstream :)

Sadly the only people who know the full story are the Spanish developers and Deathly. If one of them would like to elaborate, then that is their choice.

Hi, I'm one of the main developers of downstream mod. You can check it decompiling dayz_code/config.cpp for example. You could see that all the weapons and descriptions are in Spanish.

By the way, all the loot tables were done by me. Dunno if the map of breakingpoint was modified but, the custom map base also is mine, like Dichina's Castle, Krasnostav's new Airfield, Barracks in Stary Sobor, Guglovo + Zelenogorsk Hospitals...etc. Taser modification too.

We've also added selective spawn (Earth-Air), basebuilding MOD, extra weapons, clothes can be taken from dead corpses, modification of DayZ vehicles (Offroad get 80km/h in openfield), etc.

Regarding the new zombies, that awesome work was exclusively done by DeathlyRage. He added the wind effects and volumetric fog and the black GUI. Also added the r3f artillery and logistics, that we now have changed with another better mod. Correct me, but the rest of work was done by us.

Server Files always were different. BreakingPoint uses reality DB. Downstream uses custom database synchronised with the web. You can manage in that web your inventory in real-time, can create clans and you will see all the tents, could create bases with gates and custom code, could have a custom and unique skin associated to that clan, can see the car spawnpoints.. I'll put an example of this

Manage your Tents. You and your clan mates see the space, coordinates, last update (can see if has been stolen or not)

Custom SpawnPoints. See every vehicle spawnpoint in the map, with his drop chance. There is an auto-script that spawns a new vehicle every restart depending on its dropchance.

We have custom premium skins. If you have two or more, can the skin you want to spawn with.

Kills are logged. You can see your recent deaths.

You also can see your survivor. Where you are, your inventory, your tents, etc.

We are wiping all our databases today. Will introduce the newest baseBuilding mod version, specially coded by w4rgo, with custom panels with key. That key won't be needed if a clan is registered on our web. It will be an automated process.

I hope to clarify the situation. Its hard to see our map, custom loot table and the rest of work without being recognised.
