Well of course, DayZ is a much smaller game in terms of popularity and hype. It's not trying to compete with that market anyways, so I don't think it matters if it was overshadowed. The people that want DayZ will be looking for it.

Anyone in their right mind should know that console gaming is dead now or after the releases of the next gen consoles.. If I am to participate in going to E3, I'm sure it will only be to see the DayZ stuff.

console gaming is 1000 times bigger than pc gaming will ever ever be. i love pc gaming more but consoles will always out number pcs and are what most gamers use.

comparing dayx and xbox is not a comparison. dayz has its slot the main games at e3 are cod ghosts and bf4 all rest are side shows. god knows what will happen when this game goes on consoles pc people will probably combust :D

I think they should make the game on pc but port it over to the consoles as well, it will help to grow the community

Although you have to address the two points of 'mature' & 'not so casual' separately.

Its true that consoles mainly appeal to younger less tech-savvy people, but there are still some mature gamers that are console-based, and you only have to glance over some PC gamer forums to see that many are completely capable of acting like a child as well.

Also there are some PS & Xbox players and clans that take it VERY seriously. Often to the point of stupidity granted.

Just pointing out a sweeping generalization like that isn't really useful, or true.

I'm pretty sure whatever little information we get from interviews with Rocket, it's substance will compete with the AAA developers. Rocket doesn't follow a script written and approved by a marketing department, so he'll probably to able to speak more freely.

you want to know the one truth about video games ? money. thats it. rocket will have i cant say that or this or that will effect sales why would he do that its just common sense.

I personally hate consoles the controllers just suck after playing with mouse and keyboard for so long. Also DayZ got all its fan base from PC gamers so I doubt very much that it'd be hit that hard.

I've lost all faith in consoles. They will never rival PC in anything, and they can never be upgraded in quite the same way PCs can, so they have one set of specs that may grow outdated very fast.

I don't think so, the two communities are looking forward to different games at E3. You have to remember though, DayZ is just one game is compared to two new consoles and all the pomp that will attract. I can see DayZ ported to the PS4 at some point.

i cant see look at arma 2 dayz how many control keys are there? now look at an ps3 or rather ps4 controller how many keys does that one have?

Ok, for the record, anyone who comes into this thread stating either "Consoles are better, PC's are worse" or "Consoles are dieing" or even "All console players are young, not tech savvy, and annoying" is wrong and needs to look at the bigger picture.

I have played Playstation since about '98, when I was 4 years old.. Yes, even a 4 year old can play Crash Bandicoot. SInce then I have had every single PS console, and also one 360 which I rarely played. Last year I started getting into PC gaming and in January of this year I built my own PC, with great results. One thing I will say, console gaming is still more fun. Why? Because its quick and easy to pickup, majority of people I know have a console so its quick to hook up with them, and everyones specs are the same, so you don't have to worry about your friend getting frustrated because his getting 10fps and your getting 40fps.

On consoles everyone can enjoy the game itself with no additional worries as to whether or not they can run the game smoothly, so on so fourth, etc..

PC gaming is brilliant, especially if you have a very capable PC, playing games with high quality. I see PC gaming as the more 'serious' side of things. People care about wanting to get the best out their games, and generally speaking things are taken more seriously when playing these games. The problem is people don't get an equal experience. People have different setups, etc.. And so were as you can be beasting people on BF3 or something, that other dude is getting some serious FPS lag because his setup is not so good (And don't say just buy/build a new PC.. Stupid statement).

This thread has turned into a which one is better, and so I'm going to leave it there and move onto the actual topic. Yes, it will be overshadowed. Why? Because DayZ is one game. Infact, it will be overshadowed by a lot of different games. Because it is only on PC, and it was originally a mod of a game, so unless you have a PC and ArmA, or you have seen it on YouTube or from another source, generally speaking the interest in DayZ at the E3 is going to be towards a very specific audience.

Any hardware release will also do one over on a game. I can't wait for the E3 and to be honest my interest will mainly be in that of the PS4, I generally know what to expect from the standalone, and at the E3 I expect it to be nothing more than screenshots and some gameplay.

quick and easy to pickup is there purpose that is all in my OPINION. equal playing field yes but the frames are low on most games anyway. cpu the ps4 is getting the equivalent to a hyperthreaded i3. you expect this not to turn into which one is better everyone discussion about consoles and pc's turns into one.
