make flying helicopter harder by 1st person

Recommended Posts

there were some comments like: flying heli is too easy blah blah, and I think its true. Now it depends on you, by making people fly helis in 1st person only would it be a little bit harder and its so simple

Flying in first person is not much harder, its the dodgy landings thats hard in first person. If you avoid that you will be fine.

I forgot to mention also the landing. I think alot of people would find it harder, as you cant that easily overwatch for trees and such, that means you ll be forced to land on a field and not in middle of trees, which is not necessary a good thing though. As I said, this pretty much depends on the community, but I personally think that flying in 1st person only would be better.

Flying 3P is like flying an RC heli. The tricky part is landing in confined spaces in 1P...which shows the skill of the player.

I've been in a few helicopters of a first person only server, usually someone just gets out first to guide it to the ground. Although, we probably won't all have parachutes in the standalone, so that'll probably be a lot harder to do.

Hello there

The ToH fm at easy settings is not much different to vanilla A2 (although feels nicer IMHO) at Full "evil" settings it really becomes a challenge for the average Joe simmer.

I'd love to see it in place.

Ps ToH may still be on discount grab it up whilst you can!

I would love to see ToH flying dynamics, at their hardest in DayZ. I would get a kick out of seeing people attempt flight.

I'm not great myself but I know the basics enough to sort of fly, enough to amuse myself until I crash hard.

Are you required to fiddle with the buttons and controls in helicopters on ToH?

Or are the flying mechanics just more challenging?

no.

i want to be able to fly a helicopter.

Be pretty shit if you spend hours fixing a helicopter up and its dam near impossible to fly.

there needs to be a reward for fixing one up.

like being able to use it....

i personally fly in 1st person and land in 3rd..

if people want to complain about challenges blindfold your selve.

You can "use" the buttons on the in game model. It's actually more like look and the action appears which is a bit difficult due to the area you have to be in. I use TrackIR so i got a stiff neck when i tried this method in the version i used. What i loved the most is the 6 dof i had. I wonder why they didn't give us that in vanilla ArmA2 or even use the flight model for it.
