britishwalnut 3 Posted June 19, 2012 I see a lot of free ArmA II things on the net, is that pirating or actually free?
Blown4Six 48 Posted June 19, 2012 Arma 2 isn't free, but there is a free version with restricted graphics quality. It looks pretty bad. But it's free and then all you need is the OA expansion for day z to work.
Peyj 1 Posted June 20, 2012 I recommend just grabbing the copy from Steam - $19.99 for ARMA II, or $29.99 for the pack including Operation Arrowhead. :)

I bought Arma2 CO on steam, never looked back since.
commiedic (DayZ) 0 Posted June 20, 2012 There are tons of great mods for ArmA 2 other than DayZ too. Like Island Life or ACE. Single player missions are also a lot of fun.
cultiv8ed 0 Posted June 20, 2012 Unless there is some sort of steam offer on, you will probably find that the retail version of Arma X is cheaper than buying it from steam.
Kain Phalanx 9 Posted June 20, 2012 For clarity. Arma 2 has a free version, but you still need to buy Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead to play DayZ. That's still $20 right now. Or you can pay $30 for Combined Operations which gives you both, meaning you get the extra features of the original Arma 2.
wallstop 0 Posted June 20, 2012 http://lmgtfy.com/?q=arma+2+freeSeeing as how the first link resolves to the official arma2 webpage and the sixth one resolves to bistudio.com (A domain owned by Bohemia Interactive)...Results are inconclusive.
