So from my username and being over here you can see why and i'm not here to bash them. BUT they (The warz ) will never get a single dime from me again. So, with that said hi=0) So few questions, are there PVE severs so I can get used to the game first as well as my GF?? And I see there are sever rentals as well (which I had paid for in Warz)? I'm looking forward to the stand alone but since I have Arma will I need to buy the stand alone game?

Thanks in advance=)

I'm not sure about the standalone but you can always have a go on the server in my sig at the bottom of this comment, We are looking for more players new or experienced, we will be glad to play with you (please don't take that the wrong way haha) ;)

You will still have to pay for standalone but the alpha will be cheap, around £10 - £20, and there are some servers that support PVE, but are not strictly PVE, as PVP cant be turned off, if you want a server were most people are friendly feel free to use

EU2419

US2419

These servers are the home of the Trusted Medics of the Wasteland, if you need medical help you can just ask an online medic and they will come fix you up, also give you a few pointers if your struggling to get to grips with the game.

Welcome

There are some PVE servers about, dont know any to recommend but you should check here http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/forum/64-private-hive-discussion/

The standalone will be a totally separate game to the mod and Arma so you will need to pay again, but as it will be released as an alpha it will be pretty cheap to start with, rumours say about $15-$20 but thats not confirmed.

Not so much worried about the $$$ I've dumped around $100 a week in Warz=( Just like killing zombies but enough of them. If I buy the standalone I can do a server rental also and host it for those looking to play PVE?

The initial plans for the standalone are that it will be only on the public hive which means all servers will be linked to one database and will have to stick to the rules set out by bohemia, which means you wouldnt be able to enforce your own rules such as no pvp.

Currently the only way to have a PVE server is to set up a DayZmod private hive, with that the admin have full control over the rules and can also add mods to the server to suite their needs.

But as i said the Standalone and the Mod are shaping up to be two very different games.

Its also worth saying that running a DayZ server can be a lot of work and getting a decent size player base can be very difficult if you dont have your own group to get the ball rolling as there's a lot of competition.

I'd recommend just finding a good server just playing the mod before jumping into running your own server.

Guys thanks a lot. I'm willing to put in hrs to either complete my own and do what it takes to make it fun for sure:). I will also check out a few of you're guys sites an play:). So since I own Amra I would much rather build and mod the country to make it more exciting like what I read about in some of you're guys worlds:). What a difference here on this board then Warz. The flaming and child like behavior is terrible as well as the Devs not caring and that is why that game will fail bc if you don't care people will leave:). Looking forward to adding and playing a great game :) thanks once again .

Hey there. Welcome to the forums and DayZ

My advice to anyone new is just to jump in and experience it all for yourself. Those first few weeks are awesome and i kinda miss them, blundering around not knowing what to do, running screaming from a horde of chasing zombies....ahhh, memories.

As for the Standalone, as said it will cost you a gradational amount depending when you jump in. Low for alpha, more for beta, even more for release (you only pay the one time though).
