  1. 1. Should the Server be PvE or PvP? (PvE = Player Vs. Environment)

Ok, hello everyone.

If I was going to start a new private server for people to play on, what would you rather have the server be? a PvE server, or a PvP server? Features Listed Below.

  • It would be a 24/7 server.
  • Password protected
  • Great Staff!
  • Strict Security! (We would be constantly monitoring for hackers, and if it were a PvE server, we could watch for any rule breakers, and guarantee that if you can provide proof that you were killed by a player, then we can guarantee that your items be returned.)

Thanks!

Ummmm, if you have ever played DayZ you shouldn't have to ask this question...

Many people here tend to hate PvE servers. It's seen as the DayZ antichrist.

PvP for certain. I tend to die by nefarious means more often on PvE servers, but honestly that is because I do not understand them. For instance, say you're in a loot rich building on a PvE server - a kill house for instance on Celle - when some other player pulls up outside and asks you if he can give you a lift (he must have seen you enter). You calmly reply "No. Thank you anyway." Well that other player will not leave. He just sits outside in his UAZ asking over and over why you will not accept a ride. Remember now, it is a no PvP server. Well I don't know what you would have done in said siutation, OP. Me, I dropped two grenades out the window and ducked. Problem solved.

New problem. I was banned from the server. PvE only servers? I just don't get it.

Side not for you OP:

The best servers I have sampled were run by admins you never heard nor saw. Just me perhaps, but micro management is a big turnoff.
