will dayz standalone be a mod as well?

From that i read there has been discussion that SA will be implemented on consoles. Though said someone that the cross console idea would be bad it was brought up that it would give more funding to the game. This made me wonder do to consoles being against mod games cause if installed wrong the owner of the system will complain to the system maker wanting a free working console since it was them who bought rights to the game and mod. May be less of a deal than im making it but with all this i wanted to ask. Will SA be its own game or will arma be required to play it?

The DayZ: Stand Alone. It is it's own game, that is the definition of Stand Alone.

It would be literally impossible to run it on current consoles, and I doubt it will be delayed until the PS4/Xbox1 come out.

the next gen consoles will have the power to run it.

depends if rocket has the motivation to come out with a console platform.

You have a point, ARMA does use more keys than other games, however games similar to ARMA such as Battlefield are on console and PC, they just alter the keys, so I think that's something they could do for the SA.

you can now use a mouse keyboard on the ps3 not sure about the Xbox.

Seems the 'Stand Alone' aspect of this thread has been covered...

In regards to console. No.. Just no. Games like this don't belong it that market, full stop. DayZ will in essence be an MMO, a massive online world in which players can interact with each other. Ever noticed the majority of games like that are on PC?

I'd rather Rocket ignore the amount of people calling for it to be on PC and just stick to his guns, don't ruin what he and the community has going.

? I got the idea now. And the console thing wasn't an idea and i did read that "we would be crazy not to. With cross console gaming we will get more money to make more maps and improve later" when it said that it would be a bad idea. Im just saying that it is actually possible but they haven't said on a decision yet.
